Top 5 Disney restaurants

Many thanks! We booked through virgin holidays and got the dining plan for free. Looking forward to trying out many places. Not heard of O'hannas. What sort of food do they do? Think we're definitely going to give le cellier and kona a try!

'Ohanna is a family style Polynesian resturant. Here is a link to their menu:

Here is a link to a list of the resturants that are included in the dining plan:

Any other resturants will require you to pay out of pocket as they are not included.

Hope that helps!

First off, congratulations!

Second, there are tons of great suggestions given so far. There is such a variety of restaurants associated with WDW, and probably just as many opinions on each one. The easy way to go is to look at the signature dining places [Artist Point (WL), Bistro de Paris (Epcot/France), California Grill (GF), Citricos(GF), Flying Fish (Boardwalk), Fulton's Crab House (DTD), Hollywood Brown Derby (DHS), Jiko(AKL), Narcoossee's(GF), Yachtsman Steakhouse (YC), plus Cinderella's royal table and some over in Swan/Dolphin land], but these will set you back 2 dining credits per meal. You can run through a regular dining plan awfully quickly doing this.

However, I have had very good meals at those of these restaurants I have visited. Narcoosee's and Flying Fish have been particular standouts.

1st off let me give congratulations on your wedding. Much happiness.
2nd. I'm going down in Oct so I'm sure my list will change.

#1. The Coral Reef. Seafood steak seafood steak nuff said .

#2. Tutto Italia. Where else can u have an awsome meal on a nice midafternoon outdoors al fresco with nice bottle of wine w/ great food n service. N not to mention the show w/ the mime (if u time it right )

#3. Fultons crabhouse. Its been 10 yrs since the last time we ate there but food n service was excelle nt.

#4. 50's Primetime Cafe. Definetely n ot for the snooty. Just good ol traditional homestyle meals. Never did we have a bad meal, server, or service. Of course it helps to have a very enthusiastic n energetic server that plays the part too though.

#5. This isn't on the DP. But its aGREAT restaurant. Gloria Estefan's----> BONGO'S. Great authentic cuban food. Live bands great drinks awesome atmoshphere. U can't go wrong if spanish food is or isn't your thi ng.

Also I might add. We will be trying these new ones this oct.
Le Celliar. Can't wait
Teppon ito. Soundsawesome
Poly-luau. Sounds like fun. Good luck in whichev er u choose.:thumbsup2

Just curious where le chefs is? And how tough is it to get ressies?

1. Le Cellier (Filet & cheddar soup, delish)
2. Boma (zebra domes plus lots of other great stuff)
3. Tutto Italia
4. Kona for breakfast (tonga toast!!!!)
5. Kona for dinner

My dh & I loved The Brown Derby. I think that what we had for lunch is no longer on the menu :sad1: or that would knock the Kona dinner off the list.

For our upcoming trip, we are looking forward to trying Jiko. I think that might be on the top 5 list after our trip from most of the reviews I read.

1) We prefer
. . . fine food
. . . excellent service
. . . innovative dishes with flair
. . . overall great value
. . . relaxed and soothing dining atmosphere
. . . behaved patrons
2) The only sit-down restaurants we patronize at WDW are
. . . Bistro de Paris (Epcot, France, upstairs)
. . . Citrico's (Grand Floridian Resort)
. . . Shula's Steakhouse (Dolphin Resort)
. . . Il Mulino (Swan Resort)
. . . Victria & Albert's (Grand Floridian Resort)

We are foodies and have tried most of the restaurants in and around WDW. Our favorites include the following:
Signature:
Yachtman's Steakshouse
California Grill
Narcoossee's
Jiko
Flying Fish

Others:
Le Cellier
Germany & Le Chef de France (Atmosphere more than food)
The Wave

I just got back and the food was mediocre at best! Le Cellier was good cheddar soup was waaaay to salty. Next time I will try Shula's and Il Mulino(SP) Prime Time was pretty good, although recent yrs it has been better. The orange slushie with grand marnier was AWESOME! I was sad re the food this year. Disney are you hearing us????? I am blaming the DDP but who knows???:surfweb:

It pains me to admit that I agree with you...

Having said that, my husband and I went on a kids-free trip this past February and our favorites were:
1. California Grill. During Wishes. Delicious food. Incredibly atmosphere. Amazing night.
2. Tutto Italia -- incredibly fresh-tasting meal.
3. Flying Fish

We ate at a lot of table service places and weren't all that impressed by a lot of them, including: Chefs de France, 50's Primetime, Jiko, and Citrico's. We had good meals at most of those places; just didn't blow me away as i had expected they would.

We also had a great time having lunch at Sci-Fi...just a burger and fries...but the atmosphere was so much fun.

My absolute favorite restaurant... Artist Point at WL. Great food and very relaxed.
Kona Cafe for breakfast...many like the Tonga Toast, but I loooove their pancakes with macadamia nut/pineapple compote!

top 5 restaurants for me are:
Liberty Tree Tavern
Kona
50s Prime Time
Whispering Canyon
Rose and Crown

Just curious where le chefs is? And how tough is it to get ressies?

It's at the France pavillion in the World Showcase. Make sure to get a Grey Goose slush (the kiosk is right across from the restaurant) for a pre or post dinner drink.

I don't think it is too difficult to get an ADR. My girlfriend and I made our ADR just a few days before we left. We ate there our first night, which was a Friday, at 6:30. I had the seafood skewer which was pretty good too, but the tenderloin was excellent. It is very underrated.

Thanks for the info. BTW isn't there another restaurant in France as well? That is TS. Slushie sounds good right about now LOL.

Just found out my brother in law has booked up this place for us all. How good is the food? Anything to look out for / avoid??

Bistro de paris, think its slightly cheaper but still very nice, although I havent eaten there yet. And the grey goose slush is delicious!!

Top 5 (in no particular order):
Narcoossees
California Grill
Ohana-breakfast
Crystal Palace-breakfast
Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe-sentimental value

for me:
1. Jiko
2. California Grill
3. Le Cellier
4. Cape May Cafe
5. Ohana

have a great trip :)

Top signatures I would go to IF I had the DX DP again:

Narcoosees
Cali Grill
Jiko

That being said, this time we have the DDP and are not doing any siggys so here are my top 5 non-siggy choices:

Kona Cafe- great quality food for those who prefer not to eat great quantities of lesser quality food- the complaint I hear the most about Ohana's besides the long waits for a table.

Akershus- authentic Norwegian fare- always good seafood- a perennial favorite for our family- but that is our heritage so we are used to pickled herring and goat cheese and find it a treat.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe'- out of this world BBQ chicken pizza, appys and dessert, not so great with the Smoked Salmon pizza- did not taste smoky at all, just kinda like crust to crust lax- would have preferred a little less fish.
Planning on eating at the Express version on the next trip.

Cape May Cafe breakfast- TONS of choices (asparagus, lax, bagels, almost any pastry known to man, eggs, oatmeal, b-fast pizza, cold cereal, bacon sausage, micky waffles, tons of fresh fruit, etc), something for everyone and you get to see the characters too.

Teppan Edo- Just good food and a good show- if you don't have a teppanaki at home you should do this.

Favorite snacks-
Seashore Sweets near the Boardwalk- they have killer ice cream sundaes that you can get with your snack credits- fudge too...
Boardwalk Bakery- you can get the same desserts that they serve at the Flying Fish without needing a ressie and using 2 table credits...
