Happy

Two songs I sang in choir in school
We've only just begun
Close To You

Almost all of their songs. That girl had the most beautiful alto voice

My top 4 -

Close to You
We've Only Just Begun
For All We Know
Merry Christmas, Darling (I think that was the correct title)

There were so many wonderful songs that Karen Carpenter sang - what an artist. What a great loss when she passed ...

Maddle

They had so many great songs!

I went to several weddings in the early 70's that used "We've only just begun".

Close to You

Rainy Days and Mondays

Yesterday Once More

Rainy Days and Mondays
We've Only Just Begun
Solitaire

Loved Karen Carpenter. Loved singing Carpenters songs in junior high chorus, it was the only time we altos got the melody and the sopranos did harmony.

I love the Carpenters, Karen Carpenter had the voice of an angel.

Top of the World
Rainy Days and Mondays
Sing
Merry Christmas Darling
Close to You

Superstar, Goodbye To Love...as others have said, if you like Karen's voice you really can't go wrong. I'm more of a rock fan, but that voice of hers was magic.

I love the Carpenters.

There is a guy out here, Charles Phoenix, who does presentations on retro stuff. He did a tour and presentation of the Carpenters' home town, and my friend and I went for the heck of it. We really enjoyed it.

I have a bunch of their regular and Christmas songs on my ipod, but top 5 for me would be:

Close to You
Please Mr. Postman
Top of the World
Christmas Waltz
We've Only Just Begun

My favorites:

A Song For You
Superstar
Top of the World
Hurting Each Other
Goodbye to Love
For All We Know

I went to my elementary school's Christmas concert the year after I had graduated there. I had always loved my elementary school music/choir teacher. That year, she had the kids in the choir sing "Sing." And one of the highlights was that The Carpenters, (Karen really,) came out and sang it with them. :faint: I think Richard was off to the side paying piano as usual.

I was kicking myself that I wasn't a year younger, so I could have been in that choir!

I was so jealous. :lmao:

Everybody is listing all of my favorites, but I must admit a certain love for the "Bathroom Break" song.

Merry Christmas Darling** (One of my favorite Christmas song.)
Christmas Song (Chestnut Roasting..)
Home for the Holidays
I'll be home for Christmas
We've only Just Begun
