Top 10 restaurant recommendations - must do's

Our family has been to Disney over 15 times since 2004. Our top picks are 50"s prime time, California Grill, Via Napoli, Yak and Yeti, The Plaza, Crystal Palace(breakfast), Teppan Edo!

My favorites:

For food and atmosphere:
Captain's Grille
Tusker House
Kona Cafe
Artist's Point (may be boring for kids, but good for adults)

Great atmosphere, OK food:
Sci Fi Dine In
Coral Reef
Garden Grill
Liberty Tree Tavern

Great food, OK atmosphere:
The Wave
Boma

My picks, keeping your kids in mind, would be:

Table Service:
50s Prime Time Diner
Boma (both breakfast and dinner are fantastic)
Tusker House (all meals are character and delicious!)
Be Our Guest (dinner)
Via Napoli
Biergarten
Garden Grill
Trails End
Sci Fi (food is good, but the atmosphere is what makes it a fun place to eat at!)
Coral Reef (another where the food is just good, but the atmosphere is great with the aquarium wall!)
Crystal Palace (breakfast is the best)

Counter Service:
Flame Tree BBQ
Be Our Guest (lunch)
Sunshine Seasons
Columbia Harbour House
The QS place in Mexico (I think it's called La Cantina?) is quite good too

For me, we are primarily Signature dining fans and how we usually roll at Disney.

Table Serve Restaurants.
  1. Narcoossees ( never miss... Love the food, service, view watching Wishes and the Electric Water Pageant) (Almond Crusted Cheese Cake best dessert in WDW)
  2. Jiko (Just a notch below Narcoossees)
  3. Artist Point (excellent service and love the wood plank salmon)
  4. Flying Fish (too bad it's closed for refurbishment most of this year).
  5. Yachtsman Steakhouse (Simply blows away LeCellier in service, steaks and atmosphere).
  6. Crystal Palace Breakfast ( Love early park entry and Pooh and friends are great... The breakfast lasagna is more addicting than drugs.)
  7. California Grill ( The service lately has been average at best. Food is good but not great. The view is outstanding). (With us trying out Morimoto's, Citricos, and Blue Zoo this June we'll see if California Grill remains on the list for me).
Quick Serve Restaurants.
  1. Flame Tree BBQ (Pretty decent ribs and chicken)
  2. Tangierine Cafe (This place blows away many of the TS's in WDW).
  3. Columbia Harbour House (Salmon is a very healthy option and pretty good).
  4. Sunshine Seasons (Excellent variety of options and pretty decent).

Lots of good advice on here. Here's my take:

California Grill is your first and only choice if you have never been. Food is fantastic, extensive wine list by the glass (not kidding - it's huge), and best views for the fireworks. Be prepared to spend quite a bit though. I didn't think the prices were extreme for what we got. Just a tremendous experience. Use your receipt to get back up to watch the fireworks from the walkway at the top with an after dinner beverage from the bar.

We loved Narcoossees when we went but be sure you get a seating when you can watch the fireworks. Also great food.

I haven't seen any votes for Cape May Cafe breakfast or for Beaches and Cream. We love those two but didn't make it to either this last time.

The Wave is criminally underrated and you can usually walk right in.

I also like the Flame Tree at Animal Kingdom but you can get the same pulled pork at Casey's on their hot dog with slaw. It's big enough for two people!

Finally if you want to be different - head over to Fort Wilderness and go back to Trail's End. Don't eat at the restaurant - get the fried chicken meal take out and have a picnic while watching the water pageant on the beach. Never done this myself so I don't even know if you can take food on the beach (I'm assuming you can) but we may do that some time.

We always enjoy Mama Melrose, Trails end, Tusker House, Crystal Palace, and will be trying Garden Gril for breakfast for upcoming trip!

I LOVE Disney dining and my top 10 are
10) tony's
9) Akershus (breakfast)
8) Cinderellas royal table (only because the view, princesses.. Food is not that good)
7)Ohana (breakfast)
6)50's prime time
5) be our guest
4) crystal palace (breakfast)
3) ohana (Dinner)
2) teppan edo
1) 1900s park fare Dinner!

Shula's at the Dolphin is great, split the beef and save $$. I think it is the best steak in WDW. LeCellier is second.
LeCellier is still excellent
Via Napoli - Best pizza anywhere.
Narcoossee's - Love having to wait at the bar.
Garden Tea Room - Afternoon tea
Yak and Yeti for lettuce wraps

Cannot wait to try the newly refurbished Flying Fish
Lost interest in Yachtsman Steakhouse - Service and food have dipped a bit
