Top 10 list for 5 year old

Well, it would help to know how tall she is, because some 5 year olds are tall enough to ride the rides that require a 40" limit, and that could alter the list.

Most if not all 5 yr olds are over 40 inches. DD is very short for her age and reached 40 inches by 3 1/2. At 5 1/2 she is almost 43 inches and is the shorter than many 3yr old we know.

On our last trip she was 4 3/4 and her favorites were(this is the order she is putting them in

Winnie the Pooh
Tower of Terror
Playhouse Disney
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Muppets 3D
Buzzlightyear's Spaceranger spin
Splash Mountain
Enchanted Tiki room
Ciderella's Royal Table
Tough to be a Bug

It was hard to get her to name 10. She kept saying "But all of it is my favorite"

We went when my daughter was almost 4 and her favorite was Dumbo and jumping through the fountains at Epcot(had to buy her new clothes since she got soaked) We will be going again this Feb. she is 5 now and she is excited about being tall enough for tower of terror. :Pinkbounc

Hi Spn

I don't know whether this is a U.K thing (not many good theme parks) but after my 5 1/2 year old had been on rock in roller coaster all th NORMAL rides were "is that it " so it may be just beware!!!!!!

Thank you all for such great info. There certainly will be alot for us to do in 5 days.

Thanks Again

I don't think I've seen these yet, but they're a huge hit with my daughter:

- buying the oyster at the Japanese department store in Epcot and having it opened to get the pearl!

- afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian

- the Conservation Station (petting zoo) at Animal Kingdom

- evening storytelling at the fire pit at AKL

- the Disney bedtime stories available on the TV in your Disney resort hotel room

- collecting the Mickey soaps/shampoos each day to take back to girlfriends at home (take a big Zip-Lock baggie to cart them home)

- Tom Sawyer's island -- great place to use your imagination

- the two-hour family tour at MK that has you hunt for Captain Hook's Hook with WONDERFUL surprises.

- pressed pennies

- the Sci-Fi Drive In at MGM -- a real hoot if you've never done it!

Hope this helps!

Hands down, without a doubt, book a Family Magic Tour. My 5 year old doughter loved it. My 7 year old son and 2 year old daughter loved it, too. But my 5 year old still talks about it.

The tour takes a little over two hours and you search, with a wonderful guide, through three of the "lands" in Magic Kingdom looking for Captain Hook's hook. Each tour is different, but ours ended with a meet and greet with Mary Poppins, who then took all of us on "It's a Small World." My daughter got to sit right next to her and hold her hand. It was pure Disney Magic. She even had a Brittish accent for two hours after the tour. Great fun.

Have a magical day!

Susan

My daughter was only 3 1/2 when we went, and we only went to Magic Kingdom and MGM. However, here are her (limited) Top 10:

10. Teacups
9. beach & hammock at Polynesian (visited, were not staying there)
8. playground at Toontown
7. Cinderella show in front of the Castle
6. Little Mermaid show (unfortunately this will be closed)
5. Ariel
4. Cinderella breakfast at Castle
3. Fantasmic (especially Pocahontas, and the princesses at the end)
2. Electrical Boat Parade (watched from beach at Polynesian)
1. Small World

Be sure to buy an autograph book as soon as you get there, they sell them everywhere for $5.50. You don't want to miss any autograph opportunities. Also, leave the page next to the autograph blank, so you can later add a pic of your child with that character. You should buy one of the special pens that they sell near the autograph books, they are a little larger & the characters can hold them easier. (Test the pen before you leave the register!) Be sure to take her to Ariel's Grotto in the MK to visit & take a pic. They actually have a professional photographer there, but you are welcome to take your own pic.
Enjoy & take lots of pics, this will be a childhood memory in the making! ;)

The last time we were there my dd was 4 1/2 - she is a bit less daring than most kids when it comes to rides...here are her favorites:

1. Pin trading - she had a blast! (buy some trading pins in advance at the Disney Store - they are cheaper and may be on sale now)
2. CRT (and meeting any characters and getting autographs)
3. Small World
4. Journey into Imagination
5. night time stories on the tv at resort (tape them from the tv - i didn't think about it at the time!)
6. Swimming at the resort
7. Dumbo
8. wake up calls from Mickey
9. Cinderella's Surprise Celebration in front of castle
10. Spectromagic parade

She is also recommending Tea Cupsand Chef Mickey's (for breakfast or dinner), and DinoLand USA!

Have a super time!!

WOW Thanks. I will now have a great plan. Any additional thought for character Meals. I know this is usuallyon a different thread. We have PS for Cindy's & Chef Micky

PS DD is 5 yr old very much a girl

Absolutely ride Journey into your Imagination with Figment! My 5 year old daughter loved this! I mean really, really loved it! We rode twice in a row with no wait! We had no idea what this was and missed it our last two trips. I couldn't believe how cute and fun it was!!!

You are in good shape for your Character Meals. CRT is the most relaxed Character Meal we've had. We've eaten there three times. Chef Mickey's is fun for the kids. The food's okay. We've done both breakfast and dinner. 1900 Park Fare was great for different characters, but the food is only so-so.

Have a great time!

Lori

If your daughter has a princess costume, have her wear it to CRT, and if she has anything Minnie have her wear that to Chef Mickey's. My DD wore her Sleeping Beauty costume to CRT and got to meet Aurora - quite a thrill! She also brought her little princess dolls (we got them at Toys R Us, Kelly doll sized princesses in a 4-pack) and the princesses all made a fuss over them and of course DD thought they were great. At Chef Mickey's the first time she wore a Minnie dress and brought her Sleeping Beauty barbie - Minne loved the dress and made a huge fuss, and Pluto at the Barbie (that was NOT a hit!), last time she wore her Minnie costume and Mickey and Minnie both fussed over her.

EEyore,

My almost 6 yr. old just squeaks by on the 40" limit rides. He loves the scary ones like TOT and any roller coaster. He also loves Buzz Lightyear, the Flying Triceratops, and Spaceship Earth. He said his favorite part of Disney is spending time with his family.

My 5-year old, 46" tall niece would ride next to nothing, but loved the characters and the pools.
