What's your top 10 cheaper places to eat, paying out of pocket? If you don't have 10 in mind, list all the places you do have in mind. Thanks!

I am sure this has been asked before, but I thought I'd try and get a current opinion as places change over time and there are new members here as well.

Trails End Buffet (dinner) . . . heard the breakfast & lunch also very good
Beaches & Cream
Sanaa (lunch)
Wolfgang Puck Express
Brown Derby . . . surprise pick . . . the Cobb Salad appy is a great inexpensive lunch for a light eater

I would think you were my DH posting. Just a few days ago he was saying the same thing about Brown Derby and said he's going for lunch next trip.

Trails End all the way lol It is such a great deal and they have anawesome variety. It's a must do for us each trip... We love their breakfast and dinner!

Via Napoli
Liberty Tree Tavern LUNCH
The Plaza
50s Prime Time
Sci-Fi
Beaches & Cream
Mama Melrose
Rose & Crown

Wolfgang Express Marketplace. Though not a TS it is better than Plaza, Beaches & Cream and a few other TS places. Raglan Road is pretty solid and not too expensive.

I was looking at menus to see what are the cheaper places. Boy, I didn't realize how expensive Disney dining is. And we go a lot but hadn't been paying attention... and really we tend to do the buffet/AYCE set price places. In looking for the cheaper TS places, there are some (most mentioned in this thread) that have a $15 to $17 option as the cheapest meal. Typical meals are $23-28.

9 Dragons and Yak and Yeti are two I found, not mentioned in this thread yet.

I agree with others already posted and would add Kona Cafe & The Wave to the list. Generally the non signature/non character resort TS are on the less expensive side.

I would also encourage checking menus because there are a lot of appetizers that are plenty big for a meal. For example, I had the flatbread app at T-Rex and it was huge and I did not need anything more to complete that meal. There are a lot of options that that available at many restaurants.

Captain's Grill(e?) at the Yacht Club is a good value for table service. Their steak is very good and less expensive than other steaks on property. We went there for my birthday this year and it was quiet, tasty, and the service was great.

Plaza Inn, Kona, and the Wave would be high on my list. I feel like Grand Floridian Cafe and Olivia's Cafe at OKW are good and reasonably priced.

As @GillianP1301 stated, I find all the resort TS meals that don't have characters, are not buffets, and are not signatures to be reasonably priced and very good.

I cant believe T-Rex makes any top 10 list other than top 10 worst. our meal was inedible...maybe it was a bad night and I didn't think it was cheap at all

Olivia's
Boatwrights
Via Napoli
Kona Café
The Plaza

There are just 5

Kona
Crew's Cup Lounge
Territory Lounge
Via Napoli
Sanaa
Kimonos Lounge
Spice Road Table

Just spent some time playing with www.distripplanner.com and figured out the cheapest places according to that site.

Trails End, Beaches and Cream, Chef Art's Homecoming, Liberty Tree, The Plaza, Tokyo Dining, 50's Prime Time, Big River Grille, Spice Road Table, Splitsville and 9 Dragons were all under a certain price point I chose. In order from cheapest to most expensive (I had 2 adults with 2 desserts and 2 apps per TS since I was pricing deluxe DP too). There were a few I didn't check, like Tony's and Bongos, because they are gross.

This is for my twin DDs-18 so no lounges. My mom and I will be in another room so I was thinking deluxe DP and sharing credits with DDs but they want to eat separately from us so they'd need to use an old MB of mine. Then to make it easy, I thought we'd skip DP and pay OOP where mom and I get AP discount since I have AP... but DDs do not have APs and so then I can make them just go cheap.

Doubt I'll add anything new, but my quick thoughts (based on "cheaper" but also quality) are....

Raglan Road
Beaches N Cream
SciFi
50's Prime Time
Via Napoli
The Plaza
Yak n Yeti
Sanna
Kona (Breakfast only)
The Wave (Breakfast buffet)

Except for California Grill, I almost never go to TS for dinner in order to do just that, save money! Always have lunch ADRs, and maybe some breakfasts, especially if I can make it to BOMA at AKL.

Prix-fixe at Chefs de France is a pretty good deal for Disney standards
Yak & Yeti at AK
San Angel Inn
The Wave

1) YES.
2) YES.
3) YES.
4) Remember, The Fort is a campground.
5) Campers want value, as well as a place to spot their RV.
6) So, Trails End has to maintain quality AND price.
7) There are better choices for quality at WDW, but few as well priced.

The Wave (Breakfast buffet)

One of these days, I WILL make it to breakfast at The Wave before MK RD (well...I can dream, can't I?). Haha! Seriously though, the price is right & the food sounds amazing!
