What an awful start to Saturday morning! I've had toothache now for a month and a half (crazy I know but I can explain) I thought it was an ear infection as the pain hurt more in the ear and my face than my mouth, couldn't get a doctors apt so waited 3 weeks to see my ENT surgeon for my nose who checked my ear & to my surprise no ear infection so I waited a week for a dentist apt and I need my bottom lower right wisdom tooth removed! Well I booked an appointment which didn't suit work for Friday 17th so changed it to another date that didn't suit work either so now I'm having it done next Friday 24th!! I don't know how I'm going to physically get through another week! Help me! Toothache sucks!

What's the best pain killers for this horrid, awful nasty pain?
Also what's everyone up to today! My plans are rather boring, food shopping then home! To do nothing FUN! Not! Meanwhile my friend is at Thorpe park today..... I'm a tad jealous lol!

Sorry to hear that you're in so much pain, I hope you are able to manage it over the next week

I'm not up to much today, just popping to Birmingham this morning, then work this afternoon

Hope you have a good day :)

Oh, you poor thing. Tooth/mouth pain is so unpleasant.

When I had an infection under a molar the dentist recommended Veganin. It didn't take the pain away completely but was much more effective than the Neurofen + that I had been using. And helped keep the pain managable until the antibiotics did their job.

Clove oil!!! My kids both used Gummomile Oil (from a health food store) when they were teething. There is clove in that and It really helps!!! I've used it, too!

Speak to a pharmacist who will be able to advise the best pain relief without prescription.

In the meantime have you considered alternating paracetamol and ibuprofen every 2 hrs (providing you can take them) i.e. paracetamol then 2 hrs later ibuprofen, 2 hrs after that more paracetamol taking no more then 8 paracetamol and 4-6 ibuprofen depending on the doseage in 24 hrs? It works wonders as it keeps the pain relief topped up

I had the same tooth removed recently (bottom lower right wisdom tooth). They pulled it out there and then as I was in a lot of pain with it and the relief afterwards was great. I didnt have stitches and had no pain afterwards and in fact went back to work the same day.

I'm having mine done under anaesthetic as his already told me I'll need stitches as its embedded, I had stitches on my lower left one to and I remember the pain and not being able to eat so I'm not looking forward to it at all!
only thing that's a plus is that I have a long weekend to heal as we have bank holiday Monday

I bet you are glad it is Friday tomorrow.

I had my top left wisdom tooth out last Tuesday and I was just like you thought I had ear ache. I was so glad to get my tooth out.

I was told about paramol when I was in pain it worked great. You aren't aloud to use it too much as its addictive but it helped me sleep that's all I wanted. Also corsodil mouth wash will help after.

I am sooooo glad it's Friday! Although I can't eat or drink after 10am so I am currently on my 30min lunch break trying to eat something but I'm really not hungry now! Also getting through the day without any more drink whilst running around after 9 babies will be hard! It's thirsty work! I'm pretty sure I'll struggle! Lol but I actually can't wait to have it removed this evening! Roll on 4pm!

Take that back they've cancelled last minute! So annoyed and upset! Can't actually take this pain any longer and I now have to wait another 3 weeks!!!

That's ridiculous. They must have had a good reason to cancel it but a 3 week wait is awful.

I know right I'm in agony the only thing she could do to help was prescribe me diclofenac which I'm highly allergic to! Apparently there was nothing else they could offer as pain relief for 3 weeks! It's not like I only have to wait a couple of days! I've been in tears since 4 at just the thought of 3 more weeks of pain! (Agony) the person doing my treatment is off sick!

That's awful. Can you ring the dental hospital. And have an emergency appointment?

Apparently not as i need sedation due to having to have it cut out! :-( and the fact they have said I'd have to pay again! And I just don't have another £80

That's awful. I really hope you are getting some sleep I couldn't sleep when my tooth was really bad until I was told about paramol x

Roll on next Thursday for my wisdom tooth removal!! I'm keeping everything crossed that it goes ahead this time :-)
