Tooth Fairy

My 6 year old has her first loose tooth. A long awaited event. It is VERY VERY VERY loose. We leave tomorrow and will be onsite sunday night. All she is expecting from the tooth fairy is a "special coin"(nothing particular that is just what she called it). Incase WE screw up and forget to get it, I had warned her that the tooth fairy might not come to Disney World and that it was okay to put it under her pillow when we get home. Anyway I started thinking about TINKERBELL. SO are there any special coins at disney that TINKERBELL could leave her? And what about pixie dust anyone got any cute ideas for me?

What about doing a couple of quarters on the quarter press machine as soon as you get there and have them ready!! There is also tinker bell stuff just about anywhere that you could add to the coin. What about disney dollars?

Was have Tinkerbell come instead of the tooth fairy (they are friends you know).

Tinkerbell sprinkles pixie dust (multi colored glitter from the dollar store) on dh and a trail from the window or door to where you leave the gift. She left dd a tinkerbell barbie (purchased from the Disney Store before we left) and a Disney dollar ( I think we actually left 5 Disney dollars, but we are a bit extravagent). Dd was so excited she sprinkled the pixie dust on herself and tried to fly. That was one of the highlights of her trip.

WE bought the pixie dust and barbie before we left and had them wrapped in a plastic bag in the suitcase so that if she happened to see the bag she wouldn't know what it was. The night we arrived dh went to Downtown Disney after she was asleep and got the Disney dollars.

I agree with the Disney Dollar idea!! I think that would be a great treat to find under your pillow for a loose tooth.

I'm just excited all she wants is a special coin. Her friends have been telling her about getting - the least was $10, one got (2 teeth) 2 $5 coins and 2$1 coins plus some regular cash, another got $25 per tooth her first time being 2 teeth and 20 each after (she has lost 6 and is only 5-1/2). I told dd everytime she heard something like that that her tooth fairy probably wasnt so rich. She never even thought much about it.

My friends think I am crazy for giving my child $5 per tooth. Most of them only give $2.

She did get more for the tooth in Disney because it was something special and fun. ( I had as much fun doing it and seing her reaction, as she did getting it). And once when she had a cracked tooth pulled the tooth fairy left her $20 since it was so traumatic and the tooth fairy left her a note telling her to buy a toy.

Really cute ideas!

I just wanted to mention that we noticed on the room service menu in the BC in December that they had a tooth fairy package. I think it was about $25 and I forgot what it came with. I think it had a special pillow for the tooth and some other stuff. I'm sure some one else will know more details. It seemed really cute....but a bit expensive. We were going to order it for our DS, who still doesn't have any loose teeth LOL I figured I'd hold onto it until he did but DH talked me out of it.

thanks all. we are home and that darn tooth is still there. I'm getting so sick of that tooth. I'm about ready to just pull the thing out.

The tooth fairy usually leaves a Susan B Anthony coin for my dd its or golden dollar they usually give them back as change from the post office. Teeth lost since planning our Disney trip has been in Disney dollars. We also have the book that came with a little bag and pillow and pixie dust that I bought long before she had any loose teeth but I think I might have paid no more than 10 bucks it came from scholastics book club. If she was to lose a tooth while in Disney I would do the glitter mixture and leave a disney dollar.

My DD6 lost THREE teeth while at WDW earlier this month. Unfortunately she already figured out the tooth fairy reality, so she didn't get anything really "special" for her troubles - just extra spending money. But, she is very proud to show everyone her very own "hidden Mickey" that her missing teeth form - two top teeth and one bottom, all in front. So, when she smiles and moves her jaw just slightly it all lines up like a hidden Mickey. I should post a picture if I knew how...

My DD who turned 6 on Sunday lost her 2nd tooth on her birthday. She was so excited. For her first tooth the tooth fairy left a silver dollar and then just last week the tooth fairy was able to get a whole roll ($25) of gold Sacagawea coins at the bank. I've got 3 kids (60 teeth?) so I should probably get some more. DD thought it was so cool to get a coin she had never seen before. Maybe if she starts loosing teeth close to the trip I can switch to Disney Dollars. DD hasn't told me what her friends get. Thats why I made sure she got something special so it would be harder to compare the $ amount.

Holy Moly! Someone needs to tell those parents to chill out, they're ruining it for the rest of us!!

My kid gets a dollar... usually a Sacajawea dollar but sometimes a boring old paper dollar. She's happy to get it. What can I say, I guess our Tooth Fairy is a cheapskate.

My dd did lose a tooth at WDW, the a few hours before Hurricane Jeane hit. I have picture of her at MGM on the NY set, proudly brandishing her front tooth.

Don't know if you could do this at WDW, but when our kids lose teeth, the tooth fairy leaves a note under the pillow. It may say "Not here. ..go look under the chair." Then under the chair there will be another note that says "Sorry, try again..this time look on the window sill". And so on. The kids love it. Even when they know that there is no tooth fairy.
