My dd has just lost her first tooth: she has been waiting so long for this to happen! I would love suggestions on how to make the first tooth fairy visit extra special, such as special notes..

I hope I can explain this well: our tooth fairy "folds" the bills lengthwise and then connects the ends to make shapes...this last time one bill formed the handle of a wand while two bills formed a diamond to be the top of the wand ( you tuck the ends into each other)...one other time two bills formed two hearts that were linked by a third bill that was a circle "link"....

our DD's first tooth came out just days before our vacation - so we took it to WDW and Tink brought a Disney $5 dollar - not sure if you are close to a Disney Store..or even if they still do Disney dolllars.....

have fun, whatever idea you go with!!!! :sunny:

That is such a creative idea!
OP: If you're going to WDW- I'd second this idea! :thumbsup2

Thanks, it is a great idea. It is late at night here, time to get creative.

wow - sorry, didn't take the time difference into consideration - and I should have noticed where you were from!!!! :sunny:

Yes, it is rather late here (11:46 pm). My dd lost her tooth just before bedtime, and got so excited she couldn't fall asleep for a loong time, decorating her bedside table with her little sister so it would be "just right" for the tooth fairy. So I have only started now looking for ideas and improvizing something with my scrapbooking supplies...

We did a nice letter on the computer, printed it on colored paper, added some glitter (pixie dust), sprinkled a little on the window sill where she had come in. if your child is a deep sleeper you could put on some lipstick and leave a light lip print on her cheek and have her look in the mirror in the morning to see where the tooth fairy gave her a "sweet dreams kiss".

Our kids each got a dozen donuts from the tooth fairy for the first tooth. (Of course, the donuts were to share with the rest of the family. :thumbsup2 )

While DD is sleeping, put some body glitter gel on the pillow -- it'll rub in and wash right out.

Do not use sprinkle type glitter b/c it'll get all over the place! The gel helps the glitter to stay in place on the pillow. If she's a heavy sleeper (like DS is), you can even put some on her face or around her hairline or on her bangs.

Great Idea

OP- Tell us what idea you did use.

The tooth fairy left a note explaining why she takes the teeth on her first visit to our home. In case you didn't know, she takes all the teeth that fall out of children's mouths and builds her castle with them. Thats why its important to keep your teeth looking beautiful (to brush, floss and take care of them) so that her caztle is the best in fairy land. Oh, and she only leaves $1 for the tooth. Shes a little cheap on my block I know. But whats improtant is keeping the teeth in good condition so her castle looks great.

Thanks to all for your lovely ideas, I loved them.

I did a combination of a few: I wrote a note from the tooth fairy using a nice "handwritten" font, printed it quite small, put a fairy sticker on it, and covered the whole card in see-through glitter sticker paper (from my scrapbooking supplies). My dd's little sister, who got so excited about the visit of a fairy to their bedroom at night, also got a little note telling her to take good care of her teeth for the tooth fairy. We have a storybook at home explaining that the tooth fairy turns children's baby teeth into stars in the sky, so that was the storyline here. I used glitter "fairy dust" pixiedust: to cover the cards, the money left by the fairy (she was very generous - officially because it is a first tooth - because I was unprepared and did not have change). I also put glitter powder (did not have gel, would have been a good idea) over the pillow, their favorite toys, the bedside table.

The girls were delighted and have been talking about this all day.

Thanks again
