Does anyone know of a place to get Tooth Fairy coins? I found a few online, but I'd love to find something local since we're leaving for the World in a few days. Would Hallmark or Things Remembered have something like that?

DD lost her first tooth last night and was broken hearted this morning when the Tooth Fairy left her two dollar bills instead of a special coin like her best friend got.

Maybe I should go to the bank and ask for $1 coins? Do they generally carry Sacagaweas at the bank?

What do y'all give your kids when they lose teeth? I'm totally new at this! :)

We gave 2 quarters! My dd lost her first tooth on father's day this year. She was happy to get the 2 quarters. You can get the gold dollars at the bank. You could have your dd set our her dollar bills and have the tooth fairy trade her and leave a note saying "sorry I was out of these the other night!"

My children (including the teenager) have always received "gold" dollar coins from the Tooth Fairy. (Two coins for first tooth or surgically removed teeth and one coin for others.) The newest "gold" dollars coins are actually George Washington. A teller at my bank said it was the latest series (I guess there will be six different Washington gold dollars). Anyway, with 4 kids, I generally get them by the roll as you never know when a tooth will fall out. Good luck.

My dd(6) had her first two teeth pulled at the dentist just after we got home from Disney in February. The dental assistants told her she should get a tooth fairy visit for each tooth so she milked it two nights. I had purchased a "tooth exchange pouch" with a picture of a tooth on it. You put in the tooth and the tooth fairy leaves your money in it. She got a two dollar coin for each tooth. Coins are common in our money system so not really a treat. She also got lots of presents from the tooth fairy...i.e. books, character toothbrush/toothpaste, Tinkerbell merchandise works really well for this. You can go online and search tooth fairy and find lots of certificates etc. I printed and left a few of those too. Lots of fun as they truely believe in the magic of it all. I now have a collection of stuff stached away so I do not have to make any more quick trips searching for the appropriate items. The tooth fairy coins sound neat. Where did you find them?

My five year old lost a tooth at our last trip to Disney. I left her a $10.00 in Disney money as a magical treat. She was so excited to get Disney money and she was happy to buy herself a special toy. Funny how kids are different. To my little one coins are meaningless. Unless it's paper money she could care less.

My dd lost her first tooth Saturday night. Paper money means nothing to her, and she receives quarters for her allowance. I wish I had known about tooth fairy coins. She received 10 quarters for her first tooth. I don't know why I left ten, but I did :confused3 . She put her tooth in the fairy pillow, and I read her the story. She was incredibly excited to recieve so many coins all at once. I made sure I told her that she most likely got so many because it was her FIRST tooth...

I'll probably leave 5 coins next time (5 years old...6 coins when she's six, etc.) However, I like the idea of the gold coins as well. I could get away with only leaving one, since it's such a "pretty color" .
