When I last went to WDW, florida, I seem to remember having a long q to have my photo taken with Mickey.

As I now have a 2 year old daughter, I wondered if anyone could advise me when the best time would be for me to go and see Mickey.

Roll on APril 9th.,

The absolute best times are during parades and fireworks... at least that's my experience. I don't like to miss them, but with a 2 year old it might be worth it (or at least miss it one of the days your are in Magic Kingdom)

Also, if you don't mind sorcerer Mickey, there's almost never a line over in MGM. I can't tell you how many times we've walked right up and there was no families in there, or only 1-2. IMO it's one of the best spots to get alittle extra time w/ the characters.

We go to Toontown as soon as it opens (around 10:00). THe kids ride Goofy's rollercoaster first and we really haven't had any long lines to see the characters in Toontown then.

I'd say besides parade and fireworks times, you'll want to try first thing in the morning (Toontown opens at 10) or right before closing. You also may want to try MGM (as mentioned) or AK in Camp Minnie Mickey. He's kind of hidden there so not nearly as many people know where to find him. At AK, try to go while the Lion King show is still going on, because once the show exits, at least 1000 people could possibly dumb into that area, and there goes your short line!
