How busy is Toontown before it closes for a party night? If the party starts at 6-when does Toontown close? I am looking for something off the beaten path to do before the party starts since the crowd level is high during that time and Mickey and the Magical Map will not be playing that day.

It'll close two hours before DL closes/MHP starts:
  • For a 6:00 pm MHP, Toontown closes at 4:00 pm
  • For a 7:00 pm MHP, Toontown closes at 5:00 pm
Basically, it gives them one hour to clear out Toontown before it re-opens for the Pre-Party (which starts one hours before MHP).

Will we be let in exactly at 3 with our party tickets? Would we be able to see most of Toon Town in that hour from 3-4 before they close it? Or are there any other suggestions since Magical Map is not playing that day?

I think you'll be let in pretty close to 3:00 pm (probably plus or minus a few minutes). In terms of Toontown, it really depends on what you mean by "see most" of it...there are two attractions (Gadget's Go Coaster and Roger Rabbit's Car-Toon Spin), some character meet and greets (Mickey, Minnie), four interactive areas (Donald's Boat, Chip & Dale's Tree, Goofy's House, and the Town), one shop, and some other miscellaneous things. I don't think you'll be able to do the rides and character meet and greets in an hour, but you can probably get one of them done plus "tour" Toontown (aka look around).

For my family, we would choose to eat during the overlap period so that we don't have to take time out of MHP to have dinner.

I just looked up the schedule and Soundsational is at 3 the day of our party. Do we just follow the parade down Main St or hop on the train to get back into the park further? That sounds like a cluster fest with party goers entering during the parade! Do they usually let people enter even earlier on party nights with the parade at 3 pm?

I highly doubt that they'll let guests into the park earlier just because of Soundsational. At most, they might open the Main Street bypass so that guests can move into the park more easily, but even that seems kind of unlikely. While it's not necessarily going to be a breeze, it's not really that hard to move around the park during Soundsational (it doesn't draw the crowds the way PtN currently does). They usually stop the train when there is a parade on the route (or at least near Small Word) because the parade has to cross the track.

The parade will start at Small World and come down Main St to Town Square. You won't be "following it" down Main St.

I thought I read just recently that it started on Main Street. Does it follow the same path each time?

How about PTN?

I thought Soundsational goes from MS to IaSW when it's only presented once per day. That way, it's not there when PtN needs to hold behind MS after it's presented. I know that PtN ran from IaSW to MS last Friday during MHP and that was the only showing that evening.

Let me correct myself. If there is one run of Soundsational, it runs from South to North. PTN starts at IASW for the early performance, and Town Square for the late performance.
