We will be at DL in Nov and have the TT MM pass. Just wondering if it is really worth going to and "giving up" the reduce lines in the rest of the park? We will have a 12 mth old baby and a 3 1/2 yr with us. We are also doing a few character meals so it would seem those would provide plenty of character interaction if we skipped the TT thing? Thoughts???

I noticed you are from california. disneyworld toontown doesn't come close to comparing to disneyworld's toontown!!!!

Well, you won't find Mickey at any character meal. We went, and it was worth it to us, as we got to see Mickey and Minnie without huge crowds. And it was the only time we saw Donald in the park, except for during the parade. We were too late to catch Donald, and didn't get to see him during TTM. We were very lucky, though, in that we did see Donald on the day we were leaving, as we went to Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast before we hit the road. Donald was taking pictures outside Goofy's, so ds and I got a picture with him.

I guess it depends on how many days you will be in the parks? And, do you have Early Entry? Because TTM is always on a different day then EE, and if you have EE, that will definitely save you some time on the Fantasyland rides. And using FastPass will help a lot, too.

I believe on Mondays there is EE and MTMM. In June we did Toontown when it first opened on a non Morning Madness day, and it was very empty. We saw both Mickey and Minnie in front of their houses with no lines, in fact we were first to see both of them. Explored their houses with no one else in them with us, I could see how long the lines could get and couldn't believe people would actually wait that long! Goofy was out in the courtyard so we saw him too. We walked on Roger Rabbit, and could have again, but the kids were not interested. It didn't take us very long to explore Toontown, and while it's a nice area it doesn't hold much of interest for the over pre-school set. We have Morning Madness as part of our package, but we are undecided yet on if we should use that 1st hour in the park on one of our days for it or not.

Good point about Mickey but we are doing the Birthday at the Plaza Inn and won't he be there too?

Also, the Costco travel agent told me we could do EE and then head over to TTMM right after the EE - I think that they are both operating on Thursdays? (but will have double check on this one)

So aside from getting a photo of Mickey Mouse (or other favorite characters) is there anything in the TTMM that would be a bummer to miss?

When I was at DL in August the line to meet Mickey was longer than the line for any ride. It would be worth finding out for sure if Mickey will be at the birthday party and making your decision based on that.

I would pass on it - I have found it very disappointing in general. We have a pre-schooler and she gets very bored at TT too. There are a lot more opportunities to see Mickey and Minnie later on. I was last there 2nd week of August and we were practically able to walk right up to Mickey near the end of the day during his character appearance near Main Street Cinema.

We always take the time to hit toontown. We do it on the same morning of EE, so we hit the Fantasyland rides, and then shoot over to TT with the passes. Our kids weren't too interested in the live event that they have, but we use this time to get a few spins on Gadgets Go Coaster. This is a kiddie ride (35inches and up) and it is my daughters favorite ride. It does not have fastpass, and we have had to wait up to 45 minutes to ride this ride for her when not there before TT opens. We will then usually ride toon spin, grab a few signatures, and get out. Again, you don't have to be there right when it opens, you can use your pass to get in 15 minutes before it opens to the public and hit the rides, and still see the characters.

I think we will just play it by ear....I would rather go on Pirates a bunch of times that Gadgett's Go Coaster (but of course, that is me putting myself firtst ;) )...I checked on the Plaza Inn Birthday and they said they do not guarantee that Mickey will be there but it is a 99% chance. So from what I have gathered here, Mickey is a big bonus at the Morning Madness as well as Gadgetts.

I believe there is some sort of parade and/our ceremony. Do you receive anything (such as a pc of paper) at the ceremony?

Also, on average what would you guess the crowd number might be? A couple hundred people or more?

It is a little ceremony - a guy dances around with a few characters and they make you an official citizen badge. I would guess probably less then 200 people everytime we have been there. The following link shows a little video of what the ceremony is like.

As for pirates, you never know what will happen but I have never waited more then 20 minutes to ride the ride. I am sure it is a bit more popular since it has been redone - but it can seat so many people we have never had a long wait to ride it, and if the wait is too bad, we would just come back later.

Very cute video! I just showed it to DS and we will be there for the parade and ceremony.

Thanks Dizzyami!!
