My back has been killing me since this weekend. I think it's because I have crappy shoes and worked from Friday at 5 p.m. till Sunday at 7, on my feet the entired time (3 seperate shifts....).

Anywhooo, my back is killing me so I took 2 Baer Back & Body (reccomended doses). Says not to take anymore for 6 hours...about 2.5 hours later I am still in a lot of pain (stiff and sore), so I took 1 more...It says each pill contains 500 mg of aspirin. My stomach is a bit upset right now, but my back is stilli killing me!! Did I take too much?

Try looking up the Bayer website to see if there's an FAQ about that. I often take more ibuprofen than recommended with (so far) no ill affects. I would think one extra aspirin wouldn't be a huge deal. The stomach ache sounds about right though.

I'm sure you're fine. The doses that are put on OTC meds are usually half of what a doctor would prescribe.

When necessary, I take 600-800 mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours. the OTC dosage is 400 mg I believe. Doctor says 600-800 is the usual for pain relief. Not sure what the levels are for aspirin.

You may try taking ibuprofen next time. I find that it is pretty good for back pain--you just have to take 600 mg at a time.

If you haven't eaten much, I would imagine it would be hard on your stomach to take a large dose like that, but I don't think one extra pill is going to cause any harm.

Aspirin is a drug you definitely need to stick to the recommended dose. Actually all over the counter drugs are dangerous taken in excess.

Thanks guys. I kinda figured the stomach ache was from too much, but just wanted to be sure I didnt' take tooooo much, ya know?

Aspirin is hard on your stomach, you need to eat something before taking it. I'd try ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain if I were you.

I find Aleve works best.

Try Dansko shoes if you are on your feet a lot.

Drink some milk. Unless your ears start ringing you havent od'd. Don't ask me how I know this.

I wouldn't worry about taking the one extra pill, just don't take full doses of Aspirin long term. Aspirin thins your blood and can turn a simple cut or bloody nose into a big problem.
