I can honestly say Ive never looked at this board until today. But by posting here I am making myself accountable for what I need to do.

I signed on at Curves today. Something in me snapped recently and I realized HAVE to do something. I decided Curves might be the best way for me to get started. After seeing the numbers when I got weighed and measured I was mad for not getting there sooner.

We are going on a cruise for our 20th anniversary in 11/08. My goal is to be in a size or at a weight that begins with a 1. The lower the better, but I am shooting for the 1 right now.
Im trying to be realistic and accept I wont be able to do everything at once.

Short term goal....to be able to keep up with the other Cub Scout leaders at the 3 night camp I just registered for. The short hike at day camp nearly did me in.

In addition to Curves Im going to start with cutting out some snacks and making better choices (skip the cheese on the fries, low-cal dressings, etc). I know if I try to do it all at once it will backfire on me and make matters worse.

As the weather gets better I am going to start taking the dog for her long evening walk too.

Every little bit helps, right?

 Bethany!

Congratulations to you for committing to yourself!!! That is the first step to a healthier you. From what I hear from others Curves is a great place to go, I hope you really enjoy it. Making small changes certainly adds up and you sound like you have a plan and realistic goals, which is wonderful. I have been here at WISH on and off for over 4 years now and I have to tell you there is a wealth of information and support here, so come by often!

Hi Bethany,

You've taken 3 great steps toward "oneness"! You've come to WISH, you've joined Curves and you've made a commitment to eat healthier. Baby steps is what it takes to make lifestyle changes. I couldn't at first figure out why I gained some of my weight back and realized that I went back to my old lifestyle gradually. So making small permanent changes in definitely the way to go. You'll be looking hawt on your cruise if you keep up with your plan.

I wish you all the best!!!
