Took DS Adam (6) for his 3 monthly check up at the hospital today for his eyes he is long sighted (found out when he was 1 worn glasses since then) and this test today we have been told one of his eyes has deteoriated :sad1: so he now has to wear a patch every day for 3 hours, he was crying poor thing as he said he cant see with it on, I have explained to him that it is to make his eye stronger (I said he looks just like a pirate), it is just so upsetting as he was doing so well and they were hoping this visit they would be able to discharge him from the hospital and he would just be seen at an opticians but we will have to wait a little longer now:sad1: We have another check up in May so fingers crossed it will be better news and the patch has worked for him, hope so.

Oh no poor thing, a patch does take some getting used to, I had to wear one after surgery and simple things like coordinating my knife and fork were really tough oh and drinking :rotfl2:

I hope it works, I know a couple of kids who had to wear them, about his age too, and they're fine now the patch did the job, so fingers crossed

Aww bless him

Poor Adam. I hope the patch works Kerry and he doesn't have to wear it for long.

Have you got more than one? Could you decorate them together to make it more fun?

Poor Adam. I hope the problem gets sorted.

My 2 year old childminder's daughter has to wear glasses & sometime a patch. My niece is always telling on the little girl when she takes her glasses off. She is a little snitch who knows what she is going to be like in school:rotfl:

He was also given a felt patch with a dinasaur on to go over his glasses but he doesnt like that one (it seems a bit too big):confused3
