I took the bus part way home and walked the rest of the way with a bit of a detour to add distance. It took me an hour and a half to get home. I figure there won't be too many more days where the weather and the light are going to cooperate with the long walks home. I found great website that you can map out a route and it will give you the mileage. mapmyrun.com. I don't run, but it's great for different routes for my walks home.

I could walk forever! Love it! So sad when winter comes :( but what I do is walk around the office, since I work 3rd shift, most of the building is empty, so I walk the length of the building, round and round the offices lol. Hey it works. But it doesn't compare to outside.

I wish they would build indoor type walking parks, I bet they would make a bundle! If they did it right, it could serve for walking and playing, ya know.

But I look forward to my WDW trip, where I can walk all week! Never tuckering out!

Good for you Kim! That's awesome! Way to go... :thumbsup2 Small steps. I started with walking 2 miles a day, and eventually worked my way up to running. I'm in no way saying you need to work your way up to running - it's great that you're out there walking. Great job!

Great job. Ugh, I need to walk more. Or just get more physical. But I'm just not motivated. Good for you!

That's awesome! "Once begun is half done" (or something like that)

Gotta go my bacon and eggs are ready!

Yay! Good for you!

I envy your energy. Makes me realize I need to put more effort into walking here. I have no excuse! The weather here in Burbank is practically perfect all year round!

I too miss the week of uber-walking at WDW. I always feel so incredible after a week there!

Excellent job !!!! :thumbsup2

Put one foot in front of the other....:cool1:

The hardest part was about half way through. A steady uphill for about half a mile. I was so happy to hit the crest of that hill. Gee, hills in Pittsburgh, who da thunk it? There were 3 other shorter hills after that one. I had originally thought to take a different end to the walk, but once I hit what turned out to be the 2/3 mark, I knew I needed to take off a 1/2 mile of the original route. That would have been almost 5 miles. I only had minor discomfort in my hip joints for the last 1/2 mile. Just an ache, not pain and once I stopped walking the ache went away. No problems today. I'll probably go to the gym on Monday and work on a few of the cardio machines. I'm trying to get my cardio level to a decent point before my December trip. The first 5 days are solo, so I may be pushing the pace since I won't have to consider walking with anyone else.
