I took the bus part way home and walked the rest of the way with a bit of a detour to add distance. It took me an hour and a half to get home. I figure there won't be too many more days where the weather and the light are going to cooperate with the long walks home. I found great website that you can map out a route and it will give you the mileage. mapmyrun.com. I don't run, but it's great for different routes for my walks home.

but what I do is walk around the office, since I work 3rd shift, most of the building is empty, so I walk the length of the building, round and round the offices lol. Hey it works. But it doesn't compare to outside.

There were 3 other shorter hills after that one. I had originally thought to take a different end to the walk, but once I hit what turned out to be the 2/3 mark, I knew I needed to take off a 1/2 mile of the original route. That would have been almost 5 miles. I only had minor discomfort in my hip joints for the last 1/2 mile. Just an ache, not pain and once I stopped walking the ache went away. No problems today. I'll probably go to the gym on Monday and work on a few of the cardio machines. I'm trying to get my cardio level to a decent point before my December trip. The first 5 days are solo, so I may be pushing the pace since I won't have to consider walking with anyone else.
