I can understand not showing every contestant since far more audition than they can fit into the 2 hr format of the show. They edit them down and show the ones they think would be the most interesting for us to watch. I think they have always done that in prior years as well. After they choose everyone from the various cities is probably the only time they show all who remain.

Have fun... for the first time I watching elsewhere... going over to extracted on Fox....all the Nashville promotion kinda spoiled the magic of the rawness of the search for me

Probably...18 years of watching..no
20 years...we listen to clay 2005 Christmas album in our eBay store as he was supervisor favorite...2007 son and I would watch and laugh.... only the survivor show is now that last connection of my son and I in his youth.... extracted looks really good as they intentionally picked or invited contestants... Sandra... famous survivor villain is on the show and playing that label.... poor woman has probably carried that label all her life

It was very enjoyable. I love that they are at Belmont. Some great contestants have come from that University over the years.
And I'll add Brad Paisley was hilarious!

Well.... can it get better than last show ... directors did a lot of work and I feel ashamed bad mouthing Nashville as anchor...so I will count on another rerun... but extracted also has a new twist... and not so much crying

I think part of the song writers reflection was about the pain of loss, particularly for those who loved her.

I didn’t think the first half of last night’s show was good, but the second half was better. Loved Hannah, with her homemade dress and original “String Cheese” song. I felt sorry for the girl whose dippy aunt pretty much took over her audition. The guy from Australia already had his chances and shouldn’t be on the show at all. The last guy that auditioned and made it last year but dropped out to focus on his mental health was great.

I still don't get why the show seems to jump around and show different days (judges are often wearing different clothes) and not show the contestants in the order they auditioned. I agree that one contestant appearing with her hyper Aunt who is in some TV reality show just distracted from her audition. No idea why she even needed to be in the room during the audition. Generally, the friends/family of other contestants wait outside. It is different if they play musical backup for the contestant and have seen several contestants who do that. Was funny when the judges seemed unfamiliar with her or the TV show she is on. She acted like knowing her would somehow influence the outcome of the audition.

In the past they also held auditions in various cities. Maybe since it is only a few weeks into the show this year, that will still be the case.

I see the strength in one location... production crews can find the stories and build interesting backdrop... the Aunt I thought was fine because it shook up the "ho hum" level of engagement... which is why I ignored the show.. until encourage to watch... catching both second hour of shows and rerun on Sunday... being that the aura of my son is in the second hour.... in light of the last 7 days....this show is touching on Grace
