An acquaintance of my DH's died Friday morning, in his sleep. His wife went to wake him up, and he was cold.
He was 43 years old and had 3 children under the age of 12.
They think it was probably a heart attack. But he was in good physical condition and played ice hockey with my DH.
Sometimes, you just never know.
RIP Mark P. Arens
Mark Phillip Arens, 43, of Fredericksburg died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was an analyst with the Joint Warfare Analysis Center at Dahlgren. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served in Desert Storm and Just Cause. Currently, he was a lieutenant colonel with the Marine Corps Reserves and was a member of Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine L. Arens, a daughter, Christina Marie Arens, and two sons, Patrick Michael and Daniel Mark Arens, all of the home; and two brothers, Thomas and Robert Arens, both of Florissant, Mo.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Alan R. Hager officiating. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church, 11121 Leavells Road, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407. Online guest book at www.covenantfuneralservice .com
