Hi there. DS (17) wants to do Keys to the Kingdom tour. DS (12) is too young. I was thinking about letting DH & DS do the tour, and doing something else for younger DS. What would you reccomend?

BTW it will be early Jan when we go so water park is probably not going to happen. TIA!

How about going to Disney Quest at DTD?

Regarding the FMT: Unless he's the kind of kid who can act silly and juvenile, he won't like this tour. It's really geared towards younger kids.

I'd recommend doing the tour as a family. We had to wait for DD to turn 16 but it is an amazing tour and one you will want to discuss long afterwards -- DD and DS had great insights from their age perspectives and DH and I from ours. I can't imagine splitting up for this one :grouphug:

I know, but it will be 4 years before he can go and I'm not sure how many more vacations we will have with DS 17. It's a tough one...I'd really love to do this for DS 17 before he's off to college next year.

Does your son like trains if so check out the Behind the Steam tours, it is a early morning tour and last about 3-4 hours, we did it a few years ago and it was really nice.

We've been wanting to do this one, I hear great things about it.

We split up as a family all the time. It's just not possible to accomodate everyone all the time when there's so many great things to do.

Disney Quest is something your DS12 would love, like a pp mentioned.

Also at DTD, there's the hot air balloon ride, Ridemakerz (make your own remote control vehicle) and Ghiradelli. That would be a cool itinerary!

Or perhaps time renting the water mice (the small "speed boats" that don't go very fast) on one of the resorts' waterways that offer it. Our favorite area to do this in is at the Magic Kindgom resorts. They all have them.

If your DS likes fishing, there are several resorts that offer different experiences from old fashioned pole fishing at Port Orleans Riverside to organized fishing excursions at The Contemporary.

LOTS to do, just depends on what his interests are~

You could go horse back riding at Wilderness Lodge Campground? My DD was 9 when we did this and it was a blast. You could tour the grounds at Wilderness all day and find a ton of outside things to do..........good luck have fun!!
:cool1:
