Ok,the antipasto platter is monstrous and good but...

We were 6 adults and a 3yr old, well traveled and Disney veterans from wayback.1 guy has a OKW timeshare from the beggining.Several have been going since the park opened.
This place is absolutely on the DO NOT GO list.

We get to the place all hoping for a great replacement for Alfredo's which we loved. Are told that we cannot be seated til every member of the party is there. The 3 yr old had a nap and daddy is on his way with her,so we wait.Whatever.

We are seated in a round table,a little cramped but we are good friends and eat off each other plates even at V&A.

Antipasto platters are huge and bread is good so we are all anticipating fat bellies and happy dreams.

Food starts coming out and it is small...think 1 course size in a 5+ course meal.
Meat appears to be missing as well,oh wait.... there are the crumbs of sausage. Not Italian folks, been there several times and DW is from the Bronx and is 100%.

Against my better judgement I order dessert, out comes 3 thimble sized portions.Ok,you got me:rolleyes:.

We head out to see the fireworks, grab some baklava/coffee from Tangierine and make jokes about Too little Italia,Too too little meat etc...:rotfl2:

Rest of the trip the food was more what we expected.

I'm sorry you were disappointed. We had a totally different experience in November. We were on the dining plan and had to force ourselves to eat dessert, we were so stuffed after the main course. Maybe you hit a night when the chef was feeling stingey for some reason.:confused3 That is too bad, because I was very happy with the meal, and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Funny how 2 people can have totally different views of one place. I love this kind of food. I like the portions are a little smaller because I love ordering appetizer, entree and dessert and if the portions are big then, I don't enjoy them all. Anyways.. I thought the portions were perfect. I had the most amazing dessert there back in July. Yummy... Sorry it wasn't what you expected but there are so many choices at WDW you'll find a better place for your next trip..

We ate there in December and we too are Italian from Yonkers and very familiar with Artjur Ave in the Bronx. Our meal was fine - it was not GREAT italian food - that's very hard to find in many other parts of the country. But it was in no way that disapointing for us. Perhaps you hit it on an off night.

Thanks for your honest review. We are from NY too and went there for the lst time in Dec. I like the atmosphere and service and my food was good, I do think the lasagna is a little different from what I am use to, different and more cheese in theirs and I know dh had the ravioli and the portion was really small for someone with a big appetite. I think we will go again sometime, but then we had free dining, so that helped alot!!

Since when did the family-style meals served at red-and-white checkered trattorias of the Tri-State area become the flag-bearing standard by which all Italian restaurants should and shall be judged?

I've been to Italy, and I've been to NYC (as well as the Bronx and Brooklyn) and I can assure you nowhere in NYC or the boroughs will you find authentic Italian. Nice try, but sorry. True Italians (people living in Italy, not Italian-Americans) take their time at meals, order several courses, an antipasto, a pasta, a meat, some contorni, and then dessert.

If Tutto Italia didn't have that 5 lb. bowl of spaghetti and greaseballs you were looking for, that's not their fault. They're doing it the correct way.

Also, I thought I'd point out that the OP never once mentioned that the meal was bad. They only stated that the portions were small. That says everything right there. ;)

Condorman, perhaps I wasn't clear enough. Here is a less condensed resume of the diners and our experience.

We take 1-2 hours per meal even lunch and often split several dishes each, often getting small plates from the server to pass around.None of us are gluttons the ladies are single digit sizes and the guys all fit.Nor are we cheap,we budget a full sit down meal for every lunch and dinner. We will be dinner dining Kona and FF for DWs B-day in 5 weeks, lunch TBD.We love eating in the World and Orlando in general.

I lived in Europe and the Middle East 12 years, served in the Navy 6 years and went back and now travel routinely.Several of the others have similar food resumes, hence our kinship....We have eaten in almost every TS in WDW and this is the first time we felt cheated or dissapointed.6 experienced travelers and Disney dining FANs had the same conclusions after a week of Bistro de Paris,Le Cellier,Wave,Artist Point,Kona etc..the only conclusion we could come to was......this place doesn't measure up.YMMV.

Tutto Italia lived up to none of the standards I set for Italian food, either high dining NY,London,Paris,Milan,Napoli style or the NE family places you condorcendingly:rotfl: disparaged.Offering a sausage dish that has only a few crumbs of sausage is inexcusable.Charging nearly $30 for said dish or 2 canneloni is as well.Had this been a pre fixe or tasting menu I would have been happy to down 2 of the offerings and a share of the afore-mentioned huge antipasto. The desserts however do not compare to ANY other TS at WD 1 word "miniscule".

As I said it is on my DO NOT GO list and will get that recommendation every time someone asks here and I see it.Just as I sing the praises of FF,V&A,Mythos,Tchoup Chop and others every chance I get. This board is for the free exchange of opinions,we have both had our piece.:)

Lets all appreciate everyones different likes and dislikes of food and restaurants ......if we all liked the same places we would never get reservations ...

we were at Tutto Italia in September and I decided not to have any pasta type dishes because of my diet....so hubby and I got the meat dish. We were very pleased with it and the side dishes. BUT we didnt eat anything Italian just out of choice.

We didnt like the Morocco Restaurant but only from our tastes not because there was anything wrong with it.....

So lets appreciate other peoples opinions .
Thanks
