:scared1: I have a three year old little boy that has been watching the video we got in prep for our Disney trip beginning on March 8th. He really wants to go on the Haunted Mansion, but I'm nervous that it will be to scary. Can you let me know your thoughts; and we have a one year old, can he ride too? Thanks :bounce:

I think the scariest part is that it is a little dark. My DS and DD were a little scared at 2 but mostly because of the dark. A lot of the rides are dark and are perceived as scary at first!

My grandson was 3 his first trip thru Haunted Mansion; but he didn't know cemetaries and ghosts and the dark were supposed to be scary. He loved it. We told him things would jump out and say boo; and that it was all pretend and supposed to be fun. And that's how he took it. Others may, or may not be, as lucky....hope you are :smooth:

If he is scared of the dark, it could give him a problem. When our girls were young, I would give them a very small flashlight (like the ones that will go on a key chain) and tell them if anything scared them they could shine it on their hand and see that everything was ok. In the Haunted Mansion you will get to sit with him in the Doombuggy and it never gets that dark.

I think the scariest part is the pre-ride show in the stretch room. The CM is really dry and scary, they cram you in a small room and the lights go off for a few seconds and some people scream. Then the lights come on and everyone lines up to get on the Doombuggys. If he can make it that far, I think he would have it made! Maybe you could hold him in the stretch room, and tell him it is going to happen before hand.

Good Luck! :flower:

When our grndsn was 3, he went on everything he could with a little flashlight for the dark, when he was 5 he would not go on anything that was dark or loud, now that hes 6, he has a list of rides, still nothing thats dark or loud. I think 3 and 4 is a great age because they are not yet afraid of too much. Going back in April with the 6yr old, cant wait, way to cold here at home. Oh yea at the age yours is at dont forget to go on buzz lightyear.
