I had to share this...
I was on the shuttle bus into work this morning when two women sitting across from me started talking. This is how the conversation went.

Woman 1: We're taking the kids to Disney at the end of May this year.
Woman 2: Oh, really? They'll have a blast. "So and so" just took their kids last week. I think they are a little bit too old for Disney, but I guess they must've had a good time.

What??? How can ANYONE be too old for Disney?? I wanted to say that outloud, but thought I'd get a look if I did. So, I had to share it with people who could understand. "Woman 2" just wasn't feeling the magic I guess. :sad2:

That's funny, I often have to explain to people why my two grown daughters and I love Disney so much. I hope we never outgrow it! We are going in June, and I haven't told anyone because I don't want anyone to rain on my parade!

My husband works with a couple. They're both recently divorced. He has several kids (ages 2-13) and she has one (2). When they found out we were going to Disney again, they started asking DH some details about planning a trip. "Of course" they're only going to take the two youngest ones (his and her 2yos) because the other ones are too old and "won't care" about going to Disney. :scared1:

Really?!? You don't think his kids are going to care that their youngest brother gets to go to Disney and they have never been on one vacation in their lives? The next youngest is 5. All but one are still in elementary school. This is one situation where I'm really hoping they don't go at all.

My parents went to Disney for their last trip when they were in their sixties. They traveled with another couple who were older than they were. It was their last trip ONLY because their health prevented another one. I wish they had taken me with them, but I was in college, and they did NOT go during my spring break.

I hope to go to Disney at an even older age than they did. I pray that my health stays so that my travels can continue.

Sad but true:confused3, there are some that have chosen that they are too old for Disney, too old for cartoons, too old for... . Their childhood spirit has left, their fuddy duddy has grown. GLAD ITS NOT ME:lmao::banana: It feels good to be a kid. Everytime I get to Disney I feel I morph into the adolescent waiting to be released.:rotfl: ..."Fairy tails can come true, it can happen to you, when your young at heart..."pixiedust:

My grandma is in her 70's and still loves Disney. She was just there last month. There is no such thing as too old for Disney.

We took my (then) 82yo grandmother to Disney a few years ago and it was her first trip there...she was pushing kids out of the way to get onto the Monorail!!...guess she couldn't get into MK fast enough :rotfl:

We aren't "outgrowing" it as our kids get older. In fact the more we go the more addicted we are.

My grandparents are terrible (in a good way!) they go with us on all our trips. We go every other year. We got back in December and they have not left us alone to go back this year. We'd go if we had the money, but we really don't. But they are relentless! We are now considering a low key, less expensive trip this November. Everytime we talk (just about daily) it turns to "can we please go this year". They are worse then my kids (who by the way say it daily too!)

A few years ago they were celebrating their 50th annivarsary and their 70th b-days (all within 3 days). They took a month long drive to California to go to DL. Nope, they haven't outgrown it and have no plans to! My family feels the same way...

One is never too old for Disney. Going there with my kids as they were growing up brought the kid out in us each and every time. Now we go with our grandchildren and it is so much fun to see their faces light up and it makes us feel like kids again. We may have to grow older, but we do not have to grow up especially when it comes to Disney.:yay:

DH and I aren't as into the characters and cartoons as some people but that's what we love about Disney. It has something for everyone! We visit WDW so much because we really enjoy the outstanding customer service, the amazing resorts, the variety of foods and the fun rides and attractions.

I think alot of people just think of Disney as a place for little ones to ride Dumbo and meet Mickey and they don't understand that it's actually a place that has something for everyone. One of my co-workers put it very nicely "Why would we spend the same amount of money to travel to one town or region that offers a couple of touristy attractions when Disney offers so much for everyone in our family, in one location."

My sons are 14 and 17 and I think both of them think they are too old for disney. They would rather go back to mexico. We are going to disney again this summer and taking our almost 3 year old grandson. The older boys are going as well. They werent too happy about it though. I just said you can either go and have fun or stay home at your grandpas. Well you know what they choose. My son went to florida for spring break with a friend and we had some old hopper passes left. Him and his friend used them and he said it was ok, but he only likes it when Morgan goes to watch his face light up. My boys are thrill riders. We live by cedar point and they ride the roller coasters. They will come to appreciate disney one day when they have little ones. Im the only disney freak in my family.

Sad indeed... I don't think I will ever outgrow Disney- nor will dh, dd9 and ds7! DD has a friend that just turned 10 and her parents let the kids choose between Disney and New York for vacation (they've been to Disney before). They chose New York- her friend told her Disney was now 'lame' or some crazy word like that. DD said her friend was "CCRRRAAAAAAAAZY"- thank goodness!

We are taking my mother in law (68) on her first trip this August. She is almost as excited as me and the teenagers!!! No one is ever to old to experience some magic!!!!

My younger cousins (18,17 and 15) refuse to go to disney anymore because they say thay are to old. Our grandparents leave 45mins outside of orlando so when we all visit we would go to disney. I just look at them like what!!! I'm 27 and my DH is 26 and we still love going to disney. I just cant see how people think they are to old to go. Maybe they just dont get that magical feeling anymore.

We asked our DD what she would like to do for her 13th. birthday and she said she wanted to turn a teenager at Disney. :rotfl:

Age is a state of mind... if you believe you are too old for Disney, I think you have lost your inner child.

My parents still go to Disney every few years. Just last week my dad (71)was trying to talk DH into running the Disney Marathon with him next year. (It does not help that they are training for the Pittsburgh Marathon right now and are on that runners high).

Our entire family are Disney freaks which turns every conversation into something about Disney. We all truly love it and I think if you really know how to let go and let the magic of Disney take over, you can never be to old to have a great time. People who don't get it never will. :confused3
I hope I can travel and be swept up by the magic when I get to a ripe old age as well:lmao:

Although there are lots of places that tweens and teens would want to go instead of WDW again (since they're able to do more, go more places) when I'm talking to people who haven't there I tell them my spin on it -- WDW is really great for grown-ups but there's plenty to keep little ones busy. eg. there are no Chuck E Cheese type of restaurants, but several like Le Cellier.
