I think Im bringing too much spending money . I have about $1200 cash AND the $300 gift card. I have 4 adrs scheduled that im paying OOP and I cant even see spending more than $50 a day on souvenirs . Im thinking of keeping $700 home and just taking $500 cash . That should be able to pay for a few table service dinners and souvenirs ....Right ??:confused3 I dunno it just seems to me that bringing all of that cash is a little excessive and god forbid I lose it while Im down there:scared1: I have QSDP and ill only have to pay for my 2 year old's meals OOP and I can definetly split my meals with him. He's not a big eater at all. I may get the Disney Dooney and Bourke purse while Im there as well . I still think that $500 should be able to cover everything :confused3 Maybe 600?

We always bring too much money, but we only bring about $200 in cash and the rest in traveler's checks, or just put the extra in your checking account and use your debit card to pay the room charge (that way you'll only have one charge on your card).

How many days will you be there? How many people are going? Just you and the 2 year old?
Which bag? The $250 one? Think gift card for that.

You need cash for Tips, Souveniers, drinks you may want not on the plan. 4 meals oop? For our family that's at least $100 a meal.
I personally would rather have more than needed vs. not enough.

I personally would rather take too much and come home with some then not have enough!

It's me and two kids ages 5 and 2 for the sit down OOP meals. (Ohana,Trex,PTC,Kona) ....Hopefully it will be maybe $ 60 per meal. Im allergic to alcohol so I dont drink. (I try to drink a winecooler now and than but I always get a bad reaction almost instantly so I refrain )

I imagine there are lots of things that my kids will want when it comes to souvenirs...so I guess I should bring $700 or $800 .Thanx everyone if you have anything else to add please feel free

I also take just use my debit card while I'm there. If I am staying on site, which it appears you are, I just charge it all to my room and pay it with the card at checkout. That way you don't have to worry about carrying around all that cash. Have fun!!!!

I would never take that much cash with me any where. I'd go with the debit card option. But, if you are used to being a cash-only person, maybe that will work for you! I'd be a mess tryign to keep track of the cash!

I'm a little confused:confused3. Don't know if this is a real post or not, but if it is I would suggest definately putting that money in your checking account and taking your debit card. Why on earth would you want to take a chance carrying around all that money? If you don't have a debit or credit card then put that money on a prepaid visa just to be safe. I never have much cash on me and when we travel I never have more than $100 in cash at any given time. It's just too easy to loose it.

Do you own a CC? If so, take it and leave most of the cash in the bank.

I dont have a checking account. I made alot of dumb decisions when I was young and dumb and in college. Long story short Im in the checksytems for like 5 years?? or 7??? I only owed about $100 and even if I pay it off I was told Ill still be in the systems for all those years. I do have a debit card and I have alot of $$$ but I dont plan on using it. I much prefer cash. If I lose my debit card than what? How am I going to get another one all the way in Orlando? In all of the years I've been alive I have NEVER lost cash. I guard my cash with my life believe me ;)

I have a debit card and Im taking it with me but I wont use it. I prefer to use/have cash. I have no problem carrying around a large amount of money . I just questioned how much cash I should bring :confused3 Im nixing the Dooney purse and just bringing $400 and using the gift card Ill recieve at check in ...So im leaving atleast half of the cash at home .

We usually bring a couple hundred cash, hubby and i each carry $20-40 for those sparing things we can't charge to the room the remainder stays in the safe. We usually bring home more than 3/4 of the cash we brought down and the rest is charged to Visa.

I would take all of the money along. I always prefer to over-estimate on my vacation money and come home with extra. This will prepare you in the event you decide to do something or purchase something special that you didn't intend on as well.

Since you prefer cash....I suggest you bring all of it with you BUT keep what you don't need for the day in the safe at the hotel. Most hotel rooms have an in room safe. All the Disney resort rooms do. Look at allearsnet.com or wdwinfo.com for menus so you know the prices at the restaurants you plan to eat at. We always end up spending a ton more at Disney then we anticipate. They have a ton of souvenirs for kids and it is so hard to say no. Everyone is happy and has that Disney high and before you know it...BAM another hundred dollars was spent! So take it all but keep it in the safe for just in case.

Go to Walmart and get a walmart visa card. It's like $3.00 to buy and you put however much money on it as you want. Go to the website and fill teh info out. In about a week or so they'll send you a card with your name on it. You use it like a debit or credit card. Only cost about $3.00 a month to keep it. I've never had any problems using it since it has the visa logo on it.:yay:

:scared1:Don't take the cash, take a debit card or travelers checks so you will have access to all of your money. Even though WDW is very safe there is always the change that your purse could be stolen and all of your cash disappears wtih it. Your bank can replace your debit card or travelers checks.

Also don't underestimate how much money you will spend. It is amazing how fast it goes at WDW. What if you kids were to have an emergency and you would need the extra money for something for them. Your money would be home and you would be thousands of miles away from it.
