HELP! DH was helping me mix deviled eggs and he added way too much mustard. What can I use to balance it?

A couple more eggs?

More mayo or Miracle Whip?

Develop a love of mustard?

I guess I could do more eggs, although I really don't want to. I can try more mayo...

hehe DH pronounced them inedible, so if he can't eat them because of the mustard, NOBODY can!

Ever so glad he could help....

turn it into potato salad
I can't-I'm doing Thanksgiving (for the first time ever) for my parents, grandmothers, and husband tomorrow. It just won't work on the menu.

Nope, that won't work.

Did you add more mayo and how did that work out? And not to self - add ingedients THEN let hubby help:rotfl:

Hi
I think you should try ketchup. I make them with mayo, ketchup, sweet relish and mustard. Most people haven't heard of adding ketchup, but everyone always asks me to bring my deviled eggs to parties. It gives them a little zip. Good luck!!

Add pickle relish- that might help. Also, a secret trick is to add a 'tad' of horse radish. The flavor of the horse radish will hide some of the mustard. Be careful and not add too much though.

I'd start over. Boil a few extra eggs and add them to the ruined batch and make some egg salad to fix sandwiches in a couple of days or some potato salad. They won't take up much room in a baggie in the refrigerator.

I kind of agree with this, especially if it's for company.

Then again, I'd probably just boil a few more eggs, use just the yolks to dilute out the mustard and throw out the extra whites. But, it really does depend on how much extra mustard is in there. Mustard can be pretty overpowering.

This won't help you at all right now, but for future reference, I've found that the best deviled eggs are made by mixing the egg yolks with Marzetti slaw dressing (even the non-fat is good) and leave it at that. Yummy, in my opinion and pretty fool-proof.

I got brave. I tried more mayo, didn't work. I added some brown sugar, thinking if anything could kill the mayo, that could. It worked!!! Today they were perfectly fine.
