Too much for one day?

We have one day that I am not sure if we'll be able to do it all. Im not sure how far things are from each other & how much time it will take to go back and forth.

I wanted to do a water park in the morning (still havent decided which one). Have lunch there, then go back to the hotel and change about 1 or 2.
Go to Disney Quest for the rest of the day.
Eat dinner somewhere near Disney Quest, and stay until we pass out.

Do you think it will be too much for one day? Do you think this will leave us enough time at both places?

How much time do you think it will take to get from one of the water parks back to AKL and then to Disney Quest?

Thank you!

Back in 1997 my wife (then fiance) went to Typhoon Lagoon and it ate up the whole day for us. Riding around on those inner tubes was just too darn relaxing!!

Depending on when you go, you may stay longer in the water park if you want to ride everything. We went to TL during a quieter time and we were able to ride everything by 2:00 PM after getting there when it opened.

If you go to TL and you take cloths to change into, you could probably walk to Disney Quest faster than any bus could take you. With BB you will be closer to AKL so going back would probably be just as easy.

Okay - I'm gonna really confuse you! If it were me, I'd go to DisneyQuest first, as it is much more empty when it opens at 11am. I'd stay here a few hours (take into account we are not big on this place - two or three hours is ample), having lunch there at the Cheescake Factory upstairs, then head to Blizzard Beach.

I'd stay at BB til they threw me out, then walk over to Summerland/Winterland minigolf and play a round while drying off, then hop on the next bus back to AKL, which is a five minute ride! Just check with the bus driver who drops you off at BB when the last bus back to the resort is!

I should clarify. My boys are 12 and 14 and LIVE for video games. I think we'll need several hours at Disney Quest.

If I got to the water park for the extra morning hour & stayed until 1 or 2, could I feasibly get back to our hotel and then to Disney Quest by 4?

Walking from the waterpark to Disney Quest? How far is it? Are lockers big enough for us to bring a full change of clothes? That might be an option.

Thanks for all your ideas so far.

Oh, teenagers! Then they will LOVE DisneyQuest. I thought you had little ones (not much for them there).

Maybe you should just do the water park, see how the boys like it. DQ is open way late at night, so if worse comes to worse, you can get there later than 4pm and still make a good dent in the place.

And of course, weather will be a factor. If it's a rainy day, then get to DQ right at 11am and game away!

Hi Trini,

First of all walking from the Blizzard Beach to DTD West Side - not an option. All main roads through the WDW property are pretty much busy multi-lane highways.

Blizard Beach is very close to AKL, where you are staying - the bus ride is not long at all.

I would allow 20 mins to get to Downtown Disney Westside if you are taking the WDW Resort bus. Or just drive, if you have your own car.

Either way - getting to DisneyQwest for 4pm from AKL is doable for sure.

Have a blast  :tinker: :eeyore:

Not only is it not too much for one day, you'll probably get bored at DisneyQuest long before the day is over. I'm a fan of video games and I was ready to leave after about an hour. All of the interactive games are nothing impressive and after you try the Jungle Cruise game you'll be begging to leave.

When are you going, we just got back from a 10 day trip from July 7-17, we ended up going to TL and BB on four days. During the month of July both water parks opened 1 hour early for resort guest. We would get there shortly after 8:00 to find some chairs with shade and then we were able to ride everything at least once before 9:00 when the park opened up to the public. After that we would usually just do lazy river or go into Wave pool at TL. If you get there when it opens, staying until lunch should give you sufficient time to go back to AKL to change and go to DQ.

Sounds like a great plan to me, providing you get to the water park for EMH. If you get there for EMH you can grab your locker, get a good chair and hit all the slides before it starts to get busy. We went to both Blizzard Beach AND Typhoon Lagoon with this strategy and rode all the slides (multiple times) in a couple of hours. Then we headed to the lazy river and wave pool for a while, had lunch, more lazy river then a nap in the lounge chair. When you wake up from your nap you'll be well rested and nice and dry, this was usually early afternoonish (2-3pm.)

We also went to DQ one day. My boyfriend and I are both in our 20s but he's a major video game geek. We spent about 5-6 hours at DQ. We were able to do all of the virtual reality things (Pirates, Jungle Cruise etc.) but mostly we played a lot of the arcade games. We were able to see everything in this time. I doubt anyone would need much more time than that to see and do everything at DQ. As for restaurants around DQ, the only one we ate at was the Cuban place. It was a bit bland for my liking, I wish we would have tried Wolfgang Puck's or whatever the other place is called.

When we were there last May, the Pop Century bus stopped at both Typhoon Lagoon then Downtown Disney so logically you could take this bus from TL to DQ if you didn't mind packing your clothes along with you, this could save a bunch of time driving back and forth between parks/hotel.

I love DQ's food, they have pizza, burgers, and such. It is good food and right inside the building.

It sounds like a good plan.

Anyone know how early the buses start to run for the EMH entries?

Not sure what time they START running but we got there about 20 minutes before the water parks opened. Watching all the disappointed off-site guests complaining that THEY didn't get EMH was good entertainment for those 20 minutes. You'd think that spending as much as they did to get there they'd at least check a schedule before showing up so early!
