I understand that a 2 bedroom villa can accommodate eight adults. However, our party consists of 7 adults, 1 child (6 years old) and 4 infants. How do the infants count toward the total? If we're allowed in this size room -- will it be comfortable or cramped? Thanks for any input.

I think it'll be cramped with all the cribs all over the place!

Plus, I think the 8 can be a combo of adults and children, and you can squeeze in a 9th if it is an infant. But 4 infants may be a little much! Perhaps a GV or a 2BR and a 1BR would be better?

Occupany is 8 ( adults or children) and one infant under the age of 3. It would be extemely crowded and only one crib is provided in the unit.

I would suggest a 2 bedroom and studio.

dpleet - welcome to the boards! You will find a lot of great DVC information here.

Unfortunately, what you won't find here is a productive discussion on occupancy limits at DVC resorts. That has been a contentious issue for some time, and the moderators have (thankfully) relegated that topic to the debate board.

So, what you'll learn here is good information on DVC, but no discussion on occupancy of the DVC resorts beyond what is in the rules.

Welcome!

But this is where it gets silly. People scoff when I say that five will soon lead to six. Now we have someone talking about twelve in a two bedroom.

There are only two bathrooms, how do seven adults, a six year old and four infants get by with two bathrooms? I really don't think a GV would be apropriate for this large a group. Two two bedroom units would work.

This will be locked/moved to the Debate Board soon. The policy of 8 plus an infant under 3 as the stated occupancy has been given. Plans or discussion of doing anything different have to be done on the Debate board. Maybe someone would like to start a fresh discussion instead of adding on to the giant thread that is already there.

Now, the 4 infants...more than one family or a set of quads? :)
