I am going crazy trying to figure out where to celebrate our events and thought I'd ask all you experts! ;)

While at WDW we are celebrating my mom's 63rd birthday, my husband and my 10 year wedding anniversary and I wanted to do a special thank you day to my hubby for all he does (he has taken in my mom this past year and has been amazing). First, here are our ADRs.

Ohana - Dinner
Coral Reef - Dinner
CRT - Dinner
Crystal Palace - Lunch
Tusker house - Breakfast
Mama Melrose - Dinner
Olivia's - Dinner

I'd like to do one cake on one night for my mom and a second cake on a different night for our anniversary. We are on the DP so I'm having a hard time here because we get dessert with the plan...here is where I need help. Which of our restaurants have just okay desserts? From what I saw on the menu's I thought CRT was very plain (just a sunday) so maybe one cake there but wasn't sure about where to do the second cake. Would Crystal Palace be an option or is the sweet portion of the buffet too good to pass up? Olivia's would probably work too but that's on our last night and I kind of wanted to do it sooner.

We do have the diver and personalized menus at CR - this is where I thought I'd thank my hubby. I thought I would have the diver sign have a thank you to him and the menu just photos of my family and again, a thank you to daddy for the wonderful trip. The other option with that is two messages - the happy birthday and anniversary and then skip the thank you message.

I overthink everything! Any thoughts???? :upsidedow

I would say have the other cake in Ohana's or Olivia's. Ohanas dessert is OK but no choice so therefore having a cake would be good incase someone doesn't like the dessert and Olivia's I found to have few spectacular desserts.

Thanks gismo....any other opinions on the desserts I can miss for cake instead?

Bumping again...really would love some feedback on which of these restaurants have desserts that are just so so...Thanks!!!

Hi there. I'm really hoping to do the special aquarium sign and menus at the Coral Reef for our first meal in the world. We, too, are celebrating several occasions - our wedding/familymoon and my 3 boys' 1st trip to WDW. (It's also within a few days of my birthday.) How did you go about securing the menus and sign? Thanks in advance!

That's ALOT of cake, esp when you have desserts included in your plan.

Have you considered doing something other than cake forthem? Buy a special souveneir for your Mom's bday and Anniversary. Something that will last longer than an expensive cake :)

The diver and custom menus are great! They will be so happy to see them. A card with a heartfelt sentiment can also really make someone feel special.

I have been on the fence too. We are celebrating our 25th and I wanted a cake, but I cannot justify the cost to myself :) We will instead buy a special something (no clue yet what :lmao: ) to commemorate our anniversary. Something that will last much longer than the cake will.

Good luck planning your surprises. It is so hard and there are SO many options. Let us know what you decide!

I have the same problem. We will be celebrating my DMs 78th Bday, my DSs 20th Bday AND my parents 47th anniversary (September is a busy month for us). We're on Ddp too. I went round and round with this and here is what I ended up with:

CRT-Slipper Dessert for DMs Bday
Narcoossee's-Mini Castle Cake for Anniversary
In room at Poly Minnie Head Cake on our 1st day for DM
In room at Poly 8" Cake on our 4th day for DS

I know that is a lot of cake! But this way we won't have to cart leftovers around and private dining will bring us plates and forks.

Kim
