Too long of a day?

Hi all,

Hubby and I are going down in 24 days for a Food and Wine trip! We will only be in the parks for four days.

For our main MK day, I have two priorities after we visit the park. I want to do a bit of a bar crawl, hit up Mizner's and Trader Sam's at least, and I would really love to have dinner at California Grill.

Unfortunately I couldn't get a reservation at CG until 9:20pm. The good news is that we will be able to see Hallowishes. But it's just a late time for dinner. I do have Touring Plan's search looking for earlier times. Fingers crossed.

We will be at MK from rope drop and we usually finish up by 4 o'clock. That's a five hour+ break. I have a feeling that if we go back to the Boardwalk Villas we are not going to want to come back out. I'm not even sure a break would be our best bet, we would probably want to do the bar crawl for two hours.

Is there anything else we could do to fill up the time? I guess it's really a 2 1/2 hour gap when you factor in the bars. That's probably not enough time to go back to the hotel. Would you go back to the room and relax, chancing that you might not want to go back out? Or would you try to fill the time with something else? Tiki Birds, Hall of Presidents, and other rides we usually skip? Head to Epcot?

#Disneyproblems! I'm a lucky girl:)

Thanks for any advice!

I'm with ya Sistah, if I went back to the room to rest I would have a hard time getting my get up to go again..
I love Tiki Birds! lol
I like your idea of doing attractions you would normally skip. Tiki Birds, Steamboat (that takes a bit of time and is relaxing) Country Bears Jamboree ( Absolutely love the stupid humor), head to Tomorrowland and go on the people mover and go see Monsters Inc. There's a lot of relaxing things to do in MK, you might find you love slowing down.
Then head to the bars you want to visit.
Also, just an fyi, you don't have to have an ADR at Cali Grill at the same time as the fw, you can go to dinner earlier and then return to watch later. So if you are able to secure an earlier ADR you would still be able to come back to view the fw from their platform.
Have fun!

I never have a problem coming back out after break at the hotel. It is with the break that I feel refreshed and ready to have a good night.

I haven't checked possible crowd levels, but what about starting your day a little later? Sleep in a bit and get to MK around 10:30-11:00. That should get you to your bar crawl/dinner at about the right time.

I would either sleep in and start the day later, or go back for a nap in the afternoon. We never had huge issues getting back out after a break, but if you think you would, I would just go later.

When we went on our couples trip, we had later dinners like that a few times. One reason was to see fireworks, another reason was to enjoy some of the CL offerings (including drinks!). We were fine to head back out as long as the break was long enough to get a nap and shower/change.

Duh. Why didn't I just think to start our day a little bit later? I was able to move our fast passes around and the first one is not till 11:40 now. Would be nice to sleep in a bit and show up to the park around 11. It's a party day so hopefully the crowds will be lighter. Thanks all!
Have fun!!! Like you said #Disneyproblems!!!

We usually get up for RD, take an afternoon break, then do dinner/parks or parks/dinner in the evening. If it were us we'd take an afternoon break, go back to MK for the evening and then go to dinner.
