Too late to make Thanksgiving reservations?

We have booked a trip November 16-22. We were planning on leaving before lunch Thursday to head home but I am now thinking it would be more special to have Thanksgiving dinner at WDW. Am I kidding myself at this point? If not, any ideas on where would be the best place? We already have ADRs for Storybook breakfast (Norway), Rainforest Cafe, Liberty Tree Tavern and Spirit of Aloha dinner, so I'd prefer something different.

TIA for any advice. ;)

ETA: We have length of stay passes, so dining inside a park is okay, too.

For my strategy, the key for getting a difficult ADR is to call at least once a day, more if my schedule permits it. It took me 2 weeks to get lunch at LeCellier, but for us it was worth it. :goodvibes

In your shoes, I would consider picking maybe up to 3 restaurants and trying for ADRs every day. I'll send you some Pixie Dust. ;)

As to where to eat, we had Thanksgiving Dinner at Cosmic Rays and my mom loved it. That was our first trip to Disney, before we even knew about sit-down restaurants. We've come a long way!

Good luck!

Cosmic Rays isn't sit down? Actually Cosmic Rays sounds perfect for a Thanksgiving Lunch or any other good CS place.

Oh, I have to laugh! We really did have such a nice meal that I had forgotten that Cosmic Ray's was counter service. Too funny! :lmao:

Must have been a magical moment--our first trip to Disney and on Thanksgiving!

I guess the moral is that even some of the counter service restaurants will be memorable on the holidays. :)

I doubt you can get anything sitdown. One year I was there on T-Day and all I could get was California Grill and it was a set Thanksgiving menu, it was AWFUL TRUELY AWFUL and expensive.

This past Thanksgiving, we had our large family dinner at Pop Century foodcourt. It was a blast! We put tables together and whooped it up and no one cared we were noisy cuz everyone else was too. We had turkey with all the trimmings and you got alot of food for the $$$. Best part..we ate when we wanted to and there was nothing to clean up except for our trash.

I think there is *always* hope for an ADR to come through if you're flexible. The more popular restaurants have been booked forever, but you should be able to find something at one of the less popular places. You are also outside the 45-day drop dead date for packages and some people may be holding onto resort/restaurant reservations hoping to still be able to go.

I would select a slew of restaurants and come up with acceptable times (is 3:00 PM OK? 9:00 PM?) and call CRO for availability. Good luck!

There is always the chance someone will cancel between now and Thanksgiving Day. We ran into the same problem one year we had no ADR for Thanksgiving. We finally ended up getting someone’s canceled ADR at MGM for Momma Melrose on Thanksgiving Day. It was not bad but it was not great either… Hang in there and keep trying to call.
