We're going to Disney in July, is this too late to make ADRs for table service restaurants?

Also, is it possible to change your reservation the day of? We're trying to plan our trip, but don't want to have plans too set in stone :)

Thanks for your help!

Help?
day 1 (monday) AK: Boma or Whispering Canyon Cafe?
day 2 (tuesday) Epcot: wanted LeCellier, umm... any other suggestions?
day 3 (wednesday) MGM: 50s primetime cafe / any other suggestions?
day 4 (thursday) MK: Ohanas

it's never too late to try. only one way to find out.

No, it's not too late. But it's a good idea not to wait too much longer. As you wait longer, more restaurants and dining times will become unavailable.

It's probably already too late to make any dinner reservations for Le Cellier for July (unless someone happens to cancel right before you call). The same is likely to be true for some other high-demand restaurants (except possibly for low-demand dining times).

It's likely that you won't always get your preferred dining times, except at less popular restaurants. When you ask for a popular restaurant, the Disney Dining CM may tell you, "I have openings at 4:40 p.m., 4:50 p.m., and 8:50 p.m."

However, if you want table service meals, you should still be able to get a lot of good reservations for July.

Yes, you can change or cancel reservations. A few weeks ago, I made a same-day change from the Yacht Club Galley to Spoodles. It was just on a whim. Of course, it's a courtesy to other guests to cancel at least a day or two in advance when possible. A few restaurants now have credit card guarantees or credit card pre-payments, along with specific cancellation timeframes -- but those are the exception, not the rule.

A few thoughts...

Dining is a matter of personal taste, so everyone has different opinions.

Instead of Le Cellier, consider Chefs de France; the food is delicious, and we've had great service.

We try to include at least one signature restaurant each time. The food costs about 50% more than at regular WDW restaurants (or twice as much if you're using DDP table service credits), and wine tends to be more expensive (and better) too, but the experience can be genuinely memorable if you like that sort of dining.

Whispering Canyon Cafe is at the Wilderness Lodge, not at AKL. I'm not eager to go back. I like a "fine dining" experience or a "casual dining" experience -- but I'm not crazy about "boisterous dining." So Whispering Canyon Cafe and Ohana are not high on my list. But clearly there are others who love the loud, feeding frenzy atmosphere of these places. Again, dining is a matter of personal taste.

Always worth a try to call!

Are there kids in your group? Then you would maybe want to schedule characeter meals. Where are you staying?

Whispering CC is in the Wilderness Lodge that would be quite a hike for after AK unless this is where you are staying.

You can also try lunch. Becasue of kids we did all our TS meals at lunch and then ate a late CS meal wherever we were. Worked for us.

Will you be on the Dining Plan?

Day 1: I LOVE Boma. You won't go wrong there!
Day 2: I really like Biergarten in Epcot, but it doesn't give much "bang for your buck". Coral Reef is a VERY COOL restaurant and a special dining experience.
Day 3: I personally don't like 50's Primetime Cafe. Then again, I don't like many restaurants in MGM. Maybe Mama Melrose's?
Day 4: 'Ohana is a very fun restautant with good food :).
