Too intimidated by Cruisetoberfest 2006 thread, so...

My family (DH, me, DS, & DD) is booked on the 7-night 10/14/06 cruise to Costa Maya. DS will be 6 and DD will be 4 when we sail. I would love to meet some DISers on the ship with kids around my kids' ages.

I don't have the time or desire to read through the bazillion posts on the Cruisetober 2006 thread.

Anyone sailing then with kids near my kids' ages?

Oh, please don't be intimidated by our Cruisetoberfest thread. You don't have to read all of those pages, just jump right in. There are LOTS of people that have not been on Cruisetoberfest before. We are a really great group of people, and several of us have kids.

Please come by and say HI. You'll be surprised!!!

I know it looks intimidating, but really, it's not! I had no idea who most of these people were, and now I can't wait for the cruise so I can meet them in person! Hope to see you there!

Honestly, I just didn't know where to begin. There are just so many posts! I'm excited that the cruise we booked just happens to be Cruisetoberfest. I don't know anything about it, but it sounds like something special.

Oh good! I am sure Viking (Eric) will reply on our thread and ask for a few details - then he will email you all the history behind the group (I am new to this too although I knew a few of the group) and a cruise list so you can see who else has children.

YEAH! I am glad you will be coming over to play! Honestly, we did the same thing in December! We booked our cruise and I told Steve, I'll have to see if there is a thread started for this cruise! If not, I'll start one! HA! Little did I know it was already nearing 100 pages, and we were almost 2 years away yet! We had NO idea what we were getting into and now I can't wait to GET CRUISING! YEAH!!! I'm so glad that you're coming over to our thread!!! They really are a GREAT group of people. I went to Cruisetoberfest II, and when I found their thread, I was so overwhelmed. But, I posted, said HI, and just sat back. I was a little worried, because they all seemed to know each other. But, I hung in there and then I started to get to know everyone by reading their posts. So, I felt more comfortable and I ended up really having a total blast with this group.

I can't find anything over in that thread either. Too many posts - too little information (though the posts are fun, I'm not criticizing you guys, its just you can't FIND anything in there). And I've been following it for months.

I have a son who is 8 and a daughter who is 7.

There is a cruise meet during the sailaway party - I know that. But I can't remember where.
