lol, I was getting ready to say Oh my I am confused again...but now that is curious instead of confused so I will have to search out the source of the frustration.....lolpopcorn::

Oh my... to fellow rock smashers. I never knew what that felt like til February and I hope I never have a repeat of those emotions again. The first few days you think it is all ok and you can handle it and then within the month you feel your world has come crashing down upon you and unfortunately in my case, I got lost in a rut I thought I would never get out of..... Thank God for "Holland" who was always there for me and my dis friends is all I have to say.....

dis friends is all I have to say.....

Well we got the FYI on the grid.. hopefully we can find new Quarry... I am one of the recyclist.. so hopefully I can extend some idea on my friends situation!:grouphug:

well I did something productive today... I finallys scheduled my 30,000 car check up :) which will be done before the trip... now I just need to find a new agent for my insurance since my old one relocated to Timbuktu :headache:!!!

Then Monday will be welcome home for the aunt... and then some loose ends in school of :drinking1 and then hopefully I still have my sanity intact for the trip :):scared1:

What a night--really bad storms rolled through here, there was NO train service at all. It was not a fun commute  Here's hoping it's fixed by the morning

Duck, you know as well as I do if you are having as much heart burn and acid reflux as it appears you need to schedule an appt with your doctor. All those antacids are a sign that more than a wee bit of indigestion is going on............

Well the 4th quarter starts next month so get that appointment made BEFORE you come to Disney.... Seriously Duck, it is nothing to mess around with and YOU KNOW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry guys..I know I've been absence, but between work and school, I rarely have to time keep up with threads.

DUCK...you need to get to the doctors. I do have acid reflux...I'm now on Nexum and I feel 98% better.

So , I know that most of us keep on saying "are we there yet" when the time starts getting close for our vacations to be here. I am just curious as to what others do to get through the agony of the wait??? Also is there anything special you do while in the Parks to bring even more meaning to the magic, what is that one thing you HAVE to do while at Disney even if you do nothing else? Then how do you handle the agony of that moment when you realize you have to go home?

I am not a planner, I hate planning vacations with a Passion, but I love working up the excitement and turning my vacation into an even longer one through the ambiance we have at home prior to our trip.
I have one grown son and he and his gf love Disney almost as much as I do. Due to his job our visits are normally 5 days or less but the weekend before we leave I always have a mini Disney Party and we watch Disney movies all afternoon. Then throughout that week we text pictures and videos back and forth of those simple pleasures we find at Disney, or some sort of Disney trivia question or even "Are we there yet" It just adds to our excitement and by the time that night before gets here we are indeed too excited to sleep.

I would love to hear some of your other ideas..... We have a whole pile of Disney CDs from a friend we listen to as well..... The only way to get over the blahs of coming home is to plan another vacation of course...
:dance3:

I started reading this thread, hoping to see more stories answering this original post, but in the first page and the 3 random pages I clicked after that, I didn't see any.... You certainly are a "spirited" bunch... LOL! :rotfl2:

As you can see from my countdown, I am 6 weeks from my trip. This will be my 3rd visit to WDW and my first to AK. My first visit we were only there one day and spent almost all of it at Epcot; HS was built, but not open yet and since we go to DL fairly regularly, we skipped MK. Second visit was at Christmas and I was there for 3 days. We spent 1 at Epcot, 1 between MK and HS and the 3rd going from resort to resort to see the Christmas decorations.

This time, my plan is to really "do" the parks. I'm planning to taste and drink my way around the world at Epcot. I want to see AK. I want to really see MK. Doing MNSSHP on Nov 1. And to add to the fun, I have a friend going with me who has NEVER been to Disney (WDW or DL). DH can't go because he changed jobs and can't get the time off easily, and even if he could, we really can't afford to have him take a week without pay right now after being out of work for 10 weeks.

I am in the full "antsy" stage of waiting for October 30 to come. I have started buying some of the little things I will need for the trip.... a couple of $1 ponchos. Travel sizes of the toiletries I'm low on. Breaking in the walking shoes. Reading the DIS boards and Mom's Panel. I'm on the WDW or DL site daily. Oh, did I mention I'm going to DL with another friend the weekend before Thanksgiving?

I've started listening to the Disney CDs, including the 50th DL set which actually has the narrations and music for all the rides. WAY COOL. I'm an excel spreadsheet planner and I've started the budget sheet and printed off the pressed penny checklists. I was just telling DH this morning that I was going to do a packing "dry run" sometime in the next 2 weeks to nail down what luggage I will be using. He just nods and smiles and says, "Yes dear". Poor guy. He knows I'm going to be in the Disney bubble until New Year's probably....

:welcome::welcome: Yay on 6 weeks from your upcoming trip, you will be thinking of nothing but Disney between now and then.

Yes, we have a tendency to be very random :) and full of spirit....sometimes the liquid kind :) but not often....:rotfl:

For those who can do the spreadsheets I think that is a great idea as well as a good tool for checklists! I learned by trial and error since I am not a planner :) and now I just keep a "Disney Bag" that has all the essentials I know I am going to need for a visit to The World.

You will love the new additions at Disney that you have not had a chance to see. I will just miss you as I go back home on the 25th. Yay for a followup trip for you in November, you will get to see the Christmas lights hopefully , I go back December 11th for our annual family trip!

Feel free to post any other ideas you may have :)

I use to do the spreadsheet, but after all that work, I end up changing things when I get there that I end up never looking at the spreadsheet. Now I just wing it and I've been enjoying WDW a lot more. :goodvibes

:cool1::cool1: Thats what I do too for the most part TT and it has been working out great for me... I love finding the fun ways to build up the excitement the week before I go but any actual planning for the trip has to be from someone else if they want it done

Have a wonderful weekend... got alot of things on my plate this weekend... Have a drink or two for me!!!
