I wanted to share my experiences because I appreciated all your reviews as I was planning our trip. We spent 7 days total in Orlando, the first three at a conference at the Buena Vista Palace across from DTD Marketplace and 4 days in the parks on the Dining Plan at CBR.

Rainforest Cafe--We had an early dinner as we travelled through lunch. I had the macadamia nut crusted salmon--it was GOOD. The mango sauce really made the dish for me. My mom had a cheese burger, she said it was good. Dad had a giant salad and ate it all (big salad guy) and DH had steak and shrimp. We shared a volcano for dessert--also good. I'm not sure this would have been worth the wait had we been an hour later, but it was good.

Earl of Sandwich--Good hearty sandwiches (dad had salad) enjoyed by all. We highly recommend this for a quick bite.

Dining Plan:

Columbia Harbor House--Good, fast fish and chips and chicken strips. Everything was hot and fresh. Apple dessert would have been better hot, but was good anyway. Chocolate cake was really good for pre-packaged.

Dole Whips all around--what more can I say. Even the 8 month old has been properly introduced to a small amout of Dole Whip and LOVED it.

Whispering Canyon Cafe--Host was CRANKY (is that just his act or was he having a bad day??) Fancy Margarita was our waitress and she did a great job, even boxed our desserts for us when DS got tired of the noise and was ready for bed. Everyone got the skillet--everyone was happy. DH and Dad were crazy about the ribs, Mom and I were more into the shrimp and the mashed potatoes. The salad was really good, too. I had the Kalua chocolate cake. I wasn't crazy about it that night, but it was really good later. I think I was just too full. Mom and Dad had the carmel apple pie, would have been better hot, but when you take your dessert to go. . . DH had the smores cheesecake. We can't see what the fuss is about that one. Plain cheesecake with a little ganache and three marshmallows thrown on top??

Later: Coral Reef, Pizzafari, Boma, O'Hana Breakfast, Starlight Rays, and more Dole Whip:lmao:

Great start ~ Looking forward to reading more.

On to Day 2--EPCOT:

We had a late lunch at Coral Reef with the CP package for the 5 p.m. seating. That was the way to go!! Those lines were LONG and we walked right in. About Coral Reef, we were seated right on time (arrived about 5-10 min early). Our lunch took right at 1 hour start to finish. I was worried about it and others here are posting about really long waits, but our glasses were never empty and the service was FAST. Much appreciated by all. DH, dad and I all had the lobster soup. OMG!!! That was so rich and GOOD. Mom had the shrimp cocktail--spicy but good. The sourdough bread was also awsome. I had the mahi mahi with Israeli cous cous which I really enjoyed. Again, the sauce made the dish. DH had the pork chop and LOVED it. Mom and Pop had the blackened catfish. Mom liked the grits but the fish was a bit too spicy for her (she scraped off the blackened part) Pop loved the fish but not the grits. Chocolate waves were had all around for dessert. They were good, but I won't rave like some here do. I mean, I wouldn't turn one down, but it was not the be all end all for me.

DH and I turned in early to give DS a break. I had a greek salad from the CBR food court. DH had roasted chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and green beans. All were really good for walk up. We also split a fruit and cheese plate--I put the walnuts on my salad to give it some crunch. Mom and Pop had a grownups night at Illuminations and had nachos and margaritas at the counter service at Mexico. They report that all were good.

Oh yeah, I did get some Kaki gori to have during CP. That was one sweet snow cone (DS loved it too). It was really good even though it was a little brisk for snow cones that evening.

Animal Kingdom:

We had lunch at Pizzafari--Mom and Pop had the chicken ceasar salad--they enjoyed it. Mom had apple crisp and Pop had chocolate cake--both were pretty good. DH had peperoni pizza and liked it a lot. It didn't look nearly as greasy as most peperoni pizza. He had grapes as his side and chocolate cake. I had the Italian style sandwich, grapes and lemonade freeze to share with teething DS . The sandwich was good (huge) but the bread was a little tough. Frozen lemonade was good, it was a VERY big serving for me. We didn't eat nearly all of it, although had it been warmer outside I might have.

Dinner was Boma--again we were seated right on time. We really had excellent service at every TS we chose. Standouts for our group were the mullagatawny soup, tomato salad, sun-dried tomato hummus with crispy flat bread, fufu, rice with raisins, nut-crusted salmon with one of the sauces (it looked like duck sauce with red pepper flakes in it) it was hot but fantastic on the salmon, and the boys LOVED the sausage. Zebra domes, cocoamisu, and the coconut cake were the standouts on the dessert bar. We really did just about eat ourselves silly at Boma. I would DEFINITELY choose Boma again.
