I ate at Tony's recently because family members wanted to go. After reading the reviews, I was expecting nothing much better than lukewarm, bland ravioli from a can. At best.
Honestly? The meal was one of the best of our trip.
Our server was fantastic. We ate at a busy time of evening and had a rather large party...yet we were sat almost immediately upon check in, and the wait staff was attentive throughout.
Our large group had a mix of their offerings...calamari, pumpkin soup, ceasar salad, tomato/mozz salad, zuchinni fries...spaghetti, chicken parm, cioppino, cannelloni, short ribs...
Everything was shared, and everything was very good.
Desert as well (gelato, seasonal sorbet, cheesecake).
At the end of our stay, the group ate again at Tutto Italia. We had another mix of appetizers and entrees...and the food wasn't, overall, as good as we found at Tony's. Nothing stood out as being better...it was either 'as good' or 'almost' as good. We weren't even tempted to have desert...the food was good, but not outstanding, and the prices were much steeper.
Frankly, both were on par with chain Italian restaurants found in my mid-Atlantic residence. I'm ok paying Tony's prices for that. I wasn't happy paying Tutto Italia prices for that, especially since we found Tony's food better overall.
So, the next time we're at WDW, I would not hesitate to eat at Tony's again. I would think twice about Tutto Italia, simply because the cost was higher (at lunch vs. dinner at Tony's) and the quality was the same or slightly less.
