Tony's VIP Parade Viewing?

For those who have done it - did you feel like you had to get there early to get a spot?

We just did it this past week. Parade will hit there between 315 and 323. We were there at 305 and we had our own space on center circle, but across from Tony’s on side (get there at 250if you want the straight on view).. People tried to come in after they removed ropes and they kicked them out to make sure we had space and view. It’s a great idea if you want to see parade, but I agree shade would be nice.

My girlfriend and I arrived 20 minutes prior to the Christmas parade. We were front and center with another couple.
