I have a 6:15 ADR for Tony's Town Square our first night., Tues. 12/6. But I don't think I have read one positive review on the place! Thinking I should change it, but my question is, to what? We will have our 3 yr old daughter with us. We already have ADR's at Le Cellier, Beaches & Cream, Liberty Tree Tavern, Hollywood & Vine, Princess Storybook Breakfast, Grand Floridian Cafe, and Chef Mickey's. I was thinking of taking the monorail to the Polynesian resort and either eating at 'Ohana's or Kona Cafe? :confused3 Or should I just keep Tony's? The idea and the theming seem so cute, but who wants to have a terrible meal on their very first night of their very first Disney vacation!! Thanks!

Nicole

We have ADR for same night at Tony's and I was reconsidering our ADR also since Tony's wasn't getting very good reviews. When we dined there 10 years ago we had a good meal and service.I'm thinking we will keep our ADR and see how Tony's is now on our own. That said we love O'Hana's and I don't think you could go wrong if you decided to try it instead of Tony's.Have a safe and magical time at WDW. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

We ate there for both lunch and dinner (different days, LOL) on our last trip and really enjoyed it. Service was good, food was good, but we also have the DDE, so we saved 20% on the meal which was an added bonus anyway. I liked Tony's a lot, and also booked it for our February trip.

We ate dinner there Oct 2 for the first time and were pleasantly surprised after reading some bad reviews. It was one of our favorite dining experiences that trip!

The food was good even to my 2 picky eating DDs (they had the spaghetti and meatball and the pizza). I loved my steak. The only only complaint I have is I didn't really enjoy their cannoli!!

I loved the atmosphere and the CMs were so friendly!

We go to Tony's every trip. In March we were there with 9 everyone liked their meal. I always see people complaining about the spaghetti & meatballs. We have never ordered it so can't comment. Most complaints are about the price which makes me wonder why did they order it the price is on the menu. I've learned if the menu looks good we try it and forget the reviews on these boards. Some place people rave about I've found to be horrible.

Wow everyone, thanks for the quick responses!! I guess we should try it on our own, we just didn't want to be dissapointed at our first Disney meal. But I guess we can be dissapointed anywhere, there is not one WDW restaurant that 100 % of the people like! I need to make the final desicion quick, something tells me 'Ohana will be full, it always seems to be full. Oh well, no matter where we eat, we're in Disney, how horrible could things really be? :wizard:

Have you considered Crystal Palace? The reviews of CP are consistantly good, plus you get Pooh and friends as well, which tend to be a big hit in the 3 year old crowd...

I think that you should try Tony's for yourself. Although my family did not enjoy Tony's and have crossed it off our list after two visits, I'm still glad we went and made up our minds about it for ourselves. If the theming and menu appeal to you, definitely go. Tony's may end up being one of your favorites.

While it is helpful to read other people's reviews to get an idea of what to expect at a restaurant, don't let those reviews be your deciding factor. Some of our favorite restaurants (Sci Fi, Donald's Breakfastosaurus) get the worst reviews. On the other hand, 'Ohana often gets rave reviews here, but it was one of our least favorite WDW dining experiences and we won't be going back.

If you do decide to try Tony's, let us know what you thought when you get back. :)

Family and I ate there in 2002 (before I found the Dis) and absolutely loved our meal and the service was FANTASTIC! If I'd listened to the reviews, then I probably would never have tried it. For us, it was a great experience. Quiet restaurant with good food and wonderful service. I say...go try it for yourself and never let the reviews change your mind! ;)

I have posted this before on other threads, so forgive me if you have already read this.

I loved my Tony's Lunch in January of 2003.

We had 2 adults, and 2 teenagers (cousins, not our kids).
Everyone got the orange dreamsicle smoothie, and although I can't remember what everyone else got, I got the tony's pizza, and actually found it to be my favorite pizza in WDW thus far.

The price is a little expensive, but tasty, and I love the atmosphere, so I'm excited to go back with the dining plan when I won't have to worry about it as much.

-everyone has their own opinions...I even love sci -fi, which most dis folk hate.

-Then again, I had a Horrible experience at Flame Tree, which everyone tends to enjoy.

-Off days happen everywhere.
-Tina. :)

Definately change, tony's is horrible. Head over to Kona..or maybe consider Crystal Palace dinner buffet.

::MickeyMo I know there are a lot of bad reviews, but Tony's is a must-do for us. We go every trip. We love it there. We always have excellent food and excellent service. Plus, that pesto bread dip is delish! I think you should go and form your own opinion. ::MinnieMo

We ate lunch there recently and really enjoyed it. The location is great, the food is tasty (though expensive--but what at WDW isn't?) and we had a lovely waitress. We ate in the porch area and could watch all the character greetings around the Main St. area. It was fun!

I've enjoyed it for 2 solo lunches and came home talking so highly about it that DH wanted to try it, we finally fit in a dinner last week. Hubby had what everyone else calls the horrible spaghetti but he enjoyed it because it was exactly what he wanted. I had the chicken dish and it was very tasty. I love their soups, I've had the squash soup twice now and their cream of mushroom. The sundried tomato pesto dip for the bread is very tasty.

We will be returning to Tony's in the future, sad thing is there is so many wonderful places and new things to try that it might be May before I fit it in again. :(

Perhaps try it for lunch when it's cheaper, less costly mistake if you find it to be one. Remember each person is different, if you decide to try it look at it as a learning experience. If isn't not to your likening then you can check it of your list of places to try. The menu and prices are located at All Ears.

We too have stayed away from Tony's over the years, but have heard so much about the theming, that we've decided to try it for our upcoming December trip.

Thanks everyone! Looks like we will give it a try, I'll let you know how it was when we get back!

I was starting to feel the same as you. I made an ADR for 12/6 also. I think ours is at 5:05 pm. My husband is now starting to get crazy over this....
I saw afew people post not to get the spagetti... whatever!
I think I am going to tell my hubby let's just wing it and try it....

I do miss their breakfast!... I wish they still had it.

P.S... I see you are from Long Island... We now live in PA but I am from Staten Island!
