has anyone eaten there recently? What can you tell me about it? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks:cool1:

We ate there in December. It gets a little bit of a negative review on the boards and I dont know if it technically deserves that. The thing about it is---its just now a WOW restaurant. We enjoy it for the sentimental reasons. We are there before we got engaged. But other than that---there are def. better italian restaurants out there. The desserts are great--though. I would recommend trying this restaurant once. :thumbsup2

Thank you! I have wanted to try this but read all the negative reviews and stayed away. I will add it to my list.

It's decent and edible... but don't expect good Italian food! I'd say Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill are sadly better.

we went last month. DH got chicken parm, the sauce was eh the chicken was nasty imo, it didnt taste like real fresh chicken idk. I had the steak i knew better to get italian, we have really good italian food here in NJ and i didnt want to get my hopes up and have it be gross lol. The steak was just steak nothing special about it. The service however was out of this world, i forget our waitresses name but shes from NYC and she was awesome. We will not be going back there on our trip in Sept.

We had dinner there last month (full review and tons of pics in my March link) and really enjoyed it although the food was all brought out together and the service was great but at times too rushed.

DH loved the calamari so much that he wanted to go back there in June!

We had a late lunch there on our past trip (this was the first time going) and we really enjoyed it. We were able to sit outside and watch the 3:00 parade as we ate. The food wasn't out of this world, but it is definately something that we would consider going back to. Like one PP have mentioned, the service was outstanding. Definately give it a try and if you don't like it, you don't have to return.

My family really enjoyed the food, including my 3 year old. Sorry to say, it was the worst table service we have had during our last 3 visits. That aside, I would most likely eat there again.

The food there was fine....although the last time we went the waiter spilled my entree basically across area of the table and into my lap...then managed to "politely" blame me for it......don't ya know I wasn't happy giving that "automatic" 18% gratuity that day?

If you are not happy with your service at any restaraunt you can talk to the manager to request the 18% gratuity to be removed. They should honor your request.

I was worried about negative reviews I had read before our last trip in December but since I had never eaten there, wanted to try it out anyway. My DS also loved the calamari. I had the chicken parm and it was really good. Being from South Philly, we have many great Italian places to eat, and maybe I am an outcast lol but I happen to like Olive Garden too! I think I just like Italian food. So was Tony's the best Italian meal? No, but not only wasn't it the worst, but I thought it was pretty good as did my son and hubby. I will go back again.

Tony's is much better than either Olive Garden (yuck) and Macaron Grill (hey it beats cooking at home!). We had a really enjoyable meal on our last visit. My older daughter has requested to go again. We had good food, great service!
