Tony's Town Square?

We went in Nov of 2006 to Tonys for the first time for dinner and really enjoyed it. I know it get a lot of negative reviews, but we had the basic spaghetti and meatballs and thought it was pretty good actually. Obviously a little pricey for that, but you're in Disney, you've got to expect it to be expensive. We had a really nice waiter as well who brought out mickey confetti and put it on the table and on my DDs. I'd go back again.

The setting is really cool and it's decent italian food. Like the previous poster said, they typical italian fare like spagetti and meatballs is comprable to what you'll find anywhere but the service and atmosphere are usually really great.:wave2:

I am sorry but we didn't like Tony's Town Square at all. We waited over 30 minutes for our table (this was with an ADR!). The food was mediocre. The service wasn't as attentive as at other restaurants.

I'm glad we were on the DxDDP so we didn't have to pay OOP for it. I would have been upset had we paid cash for it. It was our least favorite meal during our whole trip. Being on DxDDP, we ate at a lot of TS restaurants and this one wasn't good.

When we go in September, we will be dining at Crystal Palace and Plaza. We've been to CP but never to Plaza. We're excited! Another night we are spending at MK we'll have dinner at Chef Mickey's. Gotta love the monorail.

I'm sorry I can't give you a review you wanted to see but we really didn't like Tony's Town Square.

We had a long wait despite an ADR and an early dinner slot (though we did have a big party). Service was pretty good, food was pretty good -- we stuck to the basics. Wouldn't be among my top choices, but it wasn't the disaster for us that it has been for some other folks on the board.

We tried it for the first time in Oct 06. I was really scared to go because all the negative talk about Tony's. It ended up to be one of our best TS during our trip. (LeCellier was #1.) I would say give it a try you may enjoy it like we did.

The food was wonderful and just okay. Depends on your taste and what you order. We thought the red sauce was too bland. However, the panini and the kids meals-including a wonderful moist salmon piece were outstanding.

We were there last year during MVMCP. We made our ADR for about 1/2 hour before the evening parade started and when we checked in asked for a table on the patio (as suggested by the CM who took our ADR-what a brilliant guy he was on so many things). We knew we might have to wait a bit if we wanted a table on the patio, but we were called in less than 10 minutes.

It was by far the best meal we've had at WDW in 15 trips (well except Boma)! The food was great, we had front row seats for the parade, and our waitress was phenomenal! Our steaks were tender and cooked exactly how we like them. Desert was good too! I truly couldn't believe that this was the restaurant that got so many bad reviews on here.

GREAT cannelloni and strip steak, DELIGHTFUL desserts...sometimes the service leaves something to be desired, but the food is great....as far as having to wait past your ADR time, you can have this at ANY WDW TS meal...it is not a "traditional" reservation, so to speak...just an "estimated" time...that is just how WDW does their ADRs, an ADR is a guaranteed table for the approx time....some nights all walk-ins are turned away and if you have an ADR at least you know you have a table sometime within a reasonable time-frame, kind of like "call-ahead-seating"....have fun and EAT MUCH!

We have ressies for our trip in a few weeks. We plan on watching the evening parade from Tony's. As a Brooklyn born Italian used to eating high quality macorini and "gravy" on Sunday all my life most Italian places I have been to are a "letdown" especially the truely terrible Olive Garden (why - WHY do people wait 2 hours for bad food)??:confused3 Anyway, I am going with an open mind about Tony's. I know it won't be gourmet. I know their sauce can't possibly be as good as what I make at home. I expect to wait. We are hoping to get a good view for the parade. We are going with friends and expect to have a good time just being with them. If the food and service are better than I have read, it will be "gravy". If it's not, I feel like I'm prepared. pixiedust:

We have never had a bad meal at Tony's. We have done lunch and dinner. We do prefer lunch as the portions are smaller and the service better (dinner is so busy that the service can really be bad at times).

OMY!!! I so totally agree! OG has to be the absolute worst offender! Pretend Italian is what we call it.

Yes, if you are used to New York style, my grandmother made this sauce from scratch type Italian food Tony's will probably not be your favorite. I think they have a very good steak (and I am from Texas so I take my beef seriously!). We love the atmsophere, and have enjoyed both our meals there, the most recent two weeks ago. I love their pistachio creme brulee.

I have to say, that waiting 30 minutes even with an ADR is not unusual. It happened to us at least half our ADR's recently, in fact at our last few trips have been that way. Given the popularity of the DDP, table services restaurants all over WDW are busy, busy and wait times vary. So be prepared and plan accordingly to allow a possible wait along with the time it takes to eat. Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and Boma have been our longest waits recently beyond our ADR time. I actually had to go pluck a banana off the Chef Mickey's dessert table (host recommended this when I asked where I could go to get my daughter some crackers) as my dd was sick she was so hungry while we waited. Crystal Palace was the longest, luckily we had a bench in the shade on the porch with a nice view of the castle!

We've eaten at Tony's twice, and have ADRs before our MNSSHP (9/16). The food is good (not great), but we really have no complaints. If you go expecting a good meal (and a slight wait for your table) you should be happy.

I am hoping it is good, we are going to try it in Aug

June 6-14 and we LOVED TTS. It was our 2nd favorite with PT 50's being the fav this trip.

Our 4 year old DS declared his spaghetti the "bestest in the world". Okay I know he's not a culinary expert but we all loved our food. Dh order the Chicken Parm, I ordered the Shrimp Pasta and mil/oldest DS ordered the NY Strip Steak.

It was all good and the restaurant was very pretty. I loved being on main street. Youngest ds had just had his haircut at the barber on main and we watched the flag ceremony just before our 5:10 ADR. It was a fun chain of events.

We ordered the Tiramisu, Spumoni and Ice Cream Bomb for desserts. The Tiramisu was SO GOOD.

We waited about 10 minutes and had a very nice waitress.

I hope this helps.

The dinner menu on Allears seems kinda skimpy. Can you order sandwiches or flatbreads (available at lunch) for dinner?

I never thought I'd hear/read ANYone refer to "gravy" again :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 !! I too was brought up on macaroni and gravy - not pasta and sauce:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for all the replies. While I don't expect it to be the best meal of our trip I am just hoping it won't be terrible. Sounds like I have a good shot at that. We too are a "gravy" family. FIL was born in Italy and we live in metro Chicago so have access to wonderful italian food. I just wanted to do a sit down in the MK and since we already had LTT booked on a different day and I didn't really care for the atmosphere at CP, I figure we'd try it. Thanks again.

We usually eat at Tony's Town Square each trip to WDW. The restaurant is really pretty and the food is good. My DH loves good coffee, and Tony's is one of the only places he will order coffee in WDW.
