What do you guy's think about Tony's Town Square? I'm trying to find a table service restaurant to make an early res. the night of MVMCP and I thought italian might be good but I want to be in MK already when the part starts. Is the menu on this site pretty current for TTS? The thing is, I think I would want the ziti and it is only on the lunch menu posted on this site. Are places at WDW pretty good about letting you get things at dinner from the lunch menu ( and vice versa)? Thanks.

We did this last Dec. Tony's is OK if you accept that you are paying a premium of about $5pp for dining in MK. It is average to above-average Italian food; nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about either. Even though overpriced it is still less expensive than Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree, or Cinderella's Royal Table.

I suggest making a reservation sometime between 4:30 and 5:00. That may help with your request for a lunch menu item, and you will be finished in time to see the 6:00 (traditional) Wishes fireworks, which they show in addition to the 9:15 Holiday Wishes. (Or at least they did last year, and I think they are doing the same this year.)

Your MVMCP ticket should get you in any time after 4:00.

I haven't eaten there in a few years because it was not getting very good reviews. I got engaged in front of the castle in '99 and then had dinner there right afterwords. They were very nice and had a big celebration for us. I returned there in 2003 with my DS1 and DH and the food was not that good. It is a very special place to us, but I cannot put myself to book it again.

Last year we ate at Liberty Tree Tavern, and I was not expecting much as I am not that into Thanksgiving food, but it was excellent. I booked it again for our upcoming trip. I also ate at Crystal Palace for dinner last year and am not booking it this year, not good character interaction and the food was just okay.

Look into Ohana at Polynesian or Chef Mickey's. I booked Chef Mickey's twice for dinner on my next trip. It is just a short monorail ride for both and the food is awsome. Good luck!

We may be one of the very few exceptions. We eat there everytime we are at WDW. We have eaten there for the past 4 years and never had bad service or food. One time there was 10 of us and still the service was amazing. I'm the type of person that if the food and service is good, I keep going back. Now if it's bad, then I wait a while before going back.

My family also enjoys Tony's. As other posters have said, the food is good, not spectacular, but good. We've been there 3 times over the years and we've always enjoyed it. The atmosphere is lovely, it's a very pretty restaurant and service has always been wonderful. We give it a :thumbsup2

We ate there last Aug. and I really wanted to like it, but no such luck. The food is below average at best and no where near authentic Italian. I would compare it to Olive Garden on a bad night(not that I have ever been to Olive Garden). The service was bad and the restaruant was a little dirty. It was easily the worst meal of the trip.

I think we just have a jaded view of what Italian food should be like because of where we live. Italian food in other parts of the country are not as good IMO. Eatable, but not as good as home.

Very true. So where on the Island do you call home? We are out in Port Jefferson.

When in Sept. are you going? We will be there Sept. 12-16. As teachers Dw and I do not get to travel much in Sept., but with the Jewish holidays falling on a Thursday and Friday it was a no brainer.
We have been to all of them wiht the exception of Chef's De France. Chef Mickeys for breakfast we really like. The one time we did it for dinner it was a bit disappointing as far aas buffetts go. Not a lot of selection what they did have was mediocre at best.
LTT we have done for dinner the last couple of times. I really like it DW was a little disappointed the last time. The meats with the exception of the steak were all really good. The stuffing with the gravy was excellant, and can you really be disappointed with warm apple cobbler for dessert? The characters there are great and will spend some time at the table beyond taking a picture and signing an autograph.
Ohana we did on our last trip and absolutely loved it. The food, service and atmosphere were great. My only regret is that I ate so much of the early courses that when they came around with the main course I was stuffed. DD had a great time with the coconut race, the parade around the restaraunt, and learning how to do the hula. I think DW still dreams of the bananas foster bread pudding with caramel sauce.
Le Cellier was with out a doubt the best meal we had on our last trip. If you or anyone you are traveling with likes mussels the ones at Le Cellier are not to be missed. Their signature steak with the musroom rissoto is outstanding. I am so disappointed that I couldn't get a reservation for our trip in September.
We did the H&V breakfast when it first opened last summer. The food was standard breakfast food, nothing that would knock you socks off. The charaters and CM's do a great job of getting the kids up and participating. Which is great if your child is into that. The one thing that irked me was we had to wait forever for all of the charaters to make it over to us, and the place was empty. Literally if there were five families eating there it was a lot.
Have fun and enjoy them all.

We will be there Sept. 11 - 18. We were supposed to leave on the 12th, but the outbound flights were $159. on SW and only $59 leaving on the Wed. We got $138. r/t out of ISP on SW. Same as we paid last Sept.

I, too, checked the school calendar and noticed the holiday early so I was able to start planning. The free dining doesn't hurt either.

My friend has the DVC for Saratoga Springs. She said it is beautiful, but far away from everything. I heard they opened a new restaurant there. Not sure of the name. We will be at WL for this trip. I can't wait.

Go on line and double check your SWA fares. I checked last night and they were all on sale. Saved $120.00:thumbsup2 Enjoy WL. Ask about the flag family when you check in. Every morning a family gets to go to the top of the resort and raise the flags. We didn't get to do it, but heard the view from up there is amazing. Also the boat ride to mk is really nice.

How much did you pay per ticket?

How much did you pay per ticket?

Just double checked, they are still the same as I paid $138 r/t per ticket including tax. I don't think they will go much less than $59 each way. The best I have seen was for $44, but it is very rare. I check it twice a day and have not seen anything cheaper. :confused3

I love Tony's Town Square Restaurant. First ate here in Oct 2003 and we were able to snag a table on the patio during SpectroMagic! Oh it was wonderful! My friend and I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and re-created the Lady and the Tramp scene! afterall that is the movie where this restaurant came from! :)
Anyhow, have been back about three times since then and each time I have ordered something different and have been happy with my choices. This restaurant in my opinion is a great atmosphere and was never dirty and the cast members are wonderful here!
I hope you enjoy!!

We had $99 each way and I got the $59.00 fare going down. We leave on the 12.

That was what we originally had, then I realized that if we left a day earlier it actually worked out cheaper. The origianal outbound rate for the 12th was $159 and the hotel is only around $200 something. It would have cost $400 more for the 4 of us to leave a day later. DH said just book it, so I did. :cheer2:

On our first trip to to WDW we ate at Tony's on 12/23. Luckily we had res...LOTS of families were waiting. Food was average to below average Italian. Hard to recommend, but the waiter was great.
