Love Lady & The Tramp and the fact that the restaurant is conveniently located but saw a sample menu on allears.net....didn't appear to have any pasta or common italian dishes for lunch or dinner. Can anyone share any of the dishes served and if they would recommend Tony's? Our family loves italian food but we have a couple of picky eaters so trying to decide if we should have a dinner or lunch at Tony's. ::MickeyMo

We had dinner there in August and it was the worst meal of our trip. I had the spaghetti and my husband had the steak and both were mediocre at best.

I am also a Lady and the Tramp fan, so I really wanted to like Tony's. We tried it twice, but after two disappointing meals we've given up and won't be dining there again. We had the spaghetti both times because nothing else on the menu appealed to us. It was not good spaghetti, and overpriced even by Disney standards. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice, but not enough to make up for the food.

From the reviews I've read here on the DIS, it seems that our experience is not unique. That being said, I think people should try restaurants that they are interested in for themselves. Some of our favorite restaurants get bad reviews from other diners. There are a few Tony's fans around here. You may eat there and have a fantastic meal.

I definitely not recommend Tony's. We ate there a number of years ago and coming from a large Italian family, with big family Sunday dinners every week, and living in one of the greatest cities in the world for italian food, I definitely know great italian. Tony's gravy tastes like the bottled variety, ala Prego or Ragu :crazy2: , and the pastas are way overcooked. I promised that if you have ever eaten at a great Italian restaurant at home, Tony's does not hold a candle to it! Now if Disney was charging Ragu prices for this slop, I would give it a pass, but $18 for a bowl of spag and meatballs is outrageous! Please do not waste your money!

We went for the first time in 2001 just DH & I and it was wonderful. Took the kids back next trip and it stunk and went 1 more time alone, menu had changed and it was just plain gross! The food wasn't even mediocre it was blech! Wish they would change it because the restaurant ambiance is wonderful!

We are one of the few that like Tony's. No one in out party ever ordered the spaghetti which seems to get the most horrible reviews. We also are a big italian family and we never order pasta with regular sauce out. We eat it enough at home and we like what we're used to. Same as we don't get pizza in Florida. When we were there in March I had the veal T-bone it was the best I've had in a long time. There were 8 of us others had osso bucco and chicken florentine everyone enjoyed it. If you like other things on the menu besides the spaghetti I'd give it a try.

I had the eggplant dish (lunch) and it was gross. The bread they bring out at the beginning is good, though. The restaurant itself is as cute as can be, but the food is kinda...... blah. For us, anyway.

they should get their old menu and chefs back maybe more people would go back. I know I would.

Another vote for YES to Tony's here. 1st trip to WDW this past June and we ate there on our last day for lunch. My DH is a pretty pickey eater and we loved the food and the atmosphere is so great!!! We are BIG Lady & the Tramp fans so it was neat for us. We did use the MYW Dining plan so I guess the cost didn't really enter into it for me, but I would go there again even without a meal plan.

I had the House Salad and Baked Ziti...yummy yummy yummy!!!

DH had the Garlic Breadsticks and Meatball Submarine. This sub was so huge that he could not finish it all...and he can always :earboy2: finish his food!

DS (3) & DD (2) had the kids pizza and it was also very good.

So I'd say try it out, now maybe if you are a big Italian conisour you wouldn't enjoy this but I know my picky family loved it!!

One night we ate at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and our server was saying how the chefs around WDW have to move around to keep their "flair" because most restaurants don't change menus so the chef can't try new things unless they change kitchens.

Just an FYI

I am not sure that that server told you but the menu has changed. It changed a few years ago. I am not sure of the chef there but whoever it is did not get any better. I am not saying people should not eat there, only that for us it used to be much better.

We had our first dinner of our trip here. It was great!! Our food was very very good. We tried to go back during our stay and couldnt get in. I think this is a place you have to try for yourself. Enjoy!!

My husband and I had lunch here for the first time in a long during our most recent trip, June 2005. We enjoyed our lunch very much. My husband ordered the Pizza Bianca and I had the Baked Ziti, House Salad.

We were also able to get 20% off with our DDE card. We found it to be a very good and relaxing lunch after a very hot morning in the park. After lunch we headed back to our resort for pool and nap time.

No freakin' way will our group ever waste our money there again. Everything is overpriced at Disney, we all know that going in, but dining at Tony's was the only time we've ever felt truly ROBBED of our money. All 6 of us give it 2 thumb's DOWN, way DOWN.

We ate there on our last trip. The server was excellent, very attentive and friendly. However, while my husband thought his food was good enough, I did not enjoy my chicken pannini. We probably wont eat there again.

Had dinner there last summer ('04). Server was really sweet, her first day out of training. Food was mediocre at best. Portions are huge, though, kids could easily share from your plate. Sauce (red) tasted like the really really bad canned (not jarred) stuff at Publix. Family of 4 , 2 adults, two kdis meals, over $70 with a tip. :( Oh yeah, my spaghetti with meatballs was like $16 and DH's seafood with white sauce was close to or over $20.

Well, we loved it when we went las summer. Beautiful place. I also had the pizza bianca...delicious. Of course it isn't italian gourmet, but I would definitely go back again. I know nobody at our table(6 of us) complained....my sister has been twice and never left dissapointed.

If you want to try it, forget what everyone says and get your own opinion. Everyone cannot like the same things so go for the places that look appealing to you. You'll never know if you don't try!

We used to go to Tony's when they served breakfast and it was always very good. I don't think we've ever had lunch or dinner there though.
