Ok dont hate on me here. This is my opinion.

I go to Disney every month and visit EVERY restaraunt on the property over the course of a year.

However this is the first time we visited Tony's Town Square as we just like the atmosphere of other places more.

We were really not impressed at all (all four of us). The price is similar to that of the Crystal Palace and Liberty Tavern.

At those places you get all you can eat/buffet. Here you get one dish, which is a small portion (speghetti is only 6 ounces with 1 meatball, $22.00 I think).

I got the Chicken Fiorentine and was not impressed at all. The chicken was the same as you could find anywhere else if not better somewhere else. The dish is somewhat related to the Chicken Marsala at Olive Garden but they have NOTHING on Olive Garden in this regard. The portions are poor and the food is average and yet you pay $22.00 roughly for those dishes.

Does anyone else have the same opinion as I do on this ?

Yes ! We tried it 2 times. Not going again. The food was the pits.I always try 2 times. You never know if it was just an off night. Not so for this place.

I use to like their breakfast--they need to bring that back--

have never been for lunch/dinner and no desire

We went once on our last trip. Never again - the place was dirty, the food was lousy, it kind of reminded me of eating in a Papa John's or other fastfood Italian style restaurant.

It's so funny how peoples' tastes differ. I have heard not much good about Tony's over the years, but my parents(who by the way are not in the know about anything Disney and just wanted to wing it on this trip, so I didn't give them any advice) came back and said Tony's was the best food they had on this trip. That was even after eating at LeCellier, which is my favorite. Go figure.:confused3 That's why there are so many different types of places I guess.

That's definately true!

However, regardless of the taste of the food, the value of the restaraunt is horrible. Just by looking at the food, it's obvious you dont get a good comparison to All You Can Eat restaraunts in the MK.

Value, though, is still a matter of perception, and for many, heaping mounds of food isn't as impressive as having, "the best food they had on this trip."

$18.99 at dinner, $ 12.14 at lunch.
I ordered this at dinner one night last month, and unless you're citing a children's serving, I disagree about "6oz"...omg...what arrived in my 'bowl' must have been 1 pound dry!

I too, however, share the sediment that Tony's could be much, much better with an improved menu.

Gotta agree! We loved the resteraunt decor and atmosphere - my mom loves Lady and the tramp - but the food was just ho hum. We had lunch there last tuesday and were not at all impressed. Must say though that our server was excellent and the decorations were beautiful!

Agreed! If the prices were half as much, I might consider eating there again. Olive garden is an Italian paradise compared to Tony's. Being Sicilian, believe me, Olive Garden is not at the top of my list by any means. Tony's rates somewhere between Hamburger Stand and taco bell on my list :rotfl2:

I agree, the food here is not the greatest. But for some reason which is beyond me, DH and DKids love the atmosphere at Tony's, so we end up eating there every trip. :confused3

Do you mean the restaurant is decorated for Christmas? :flower:

Ditto. My gnocchi was a huge serving and I could only manage about 1/3 of the plate. (Not a menu item, special ordered it.)

But I agree that the menu could do with some improvements! However, the parade side seating and great service plus the ease of gettting a special order were a real bonus, not to mention my favourite tomato pesto dip. They do need to however find a better crusty bread to serve, as opposed to the light rye which really doesn't go with the dip.

Yes it is decorated for Christmas and pictures from Lady and The Tramp are very nice also. It is just a beautiful building - vey victorian.

Actually it is 6 oz.

Also, I agree that the atmosphere is ok and the building is beautiful.

Im not saying the food is bad. I enjoyed my meal. What I am saying is, take the Chicken Fiorentine at $22.00, compare the portion, and the portion of sides, to other restaraunts of it's price and you get much less food.

Compare it to the type of restaraunt (genre) and it is not even comparable.

we went twice - had ps for the exact time they opened- and the food was better than average and the service was excellent.
third time - not a charm. everything was average at best.

Years ago, Tony's was our favorite MK restaurant, and one of our favorites overall. The menu was varied, the dishes were delicious and there was value for the money.

In the past 4 or 5 years, we've tried Tony's a couple of times, and were a little disappointed. They changed the menu, and there are not nearly as many choices, especially at lunch. They used to have a wonderful chicken piccata that was to-die-for, and their Joe's Pasta was delicious, full of tomatoes and artichokes, mmmm.

And, I agree, the portions are much smaller. DD and I ate lunch there last year, and my eggplant roulade was one lasagna noodle rolled with eggplant and sauce! DD's panini was good, though.

My BF and I ate there in July on our last trip. I had chosen it because I had read about it on the DIS and thought it would be nice to be sitting there eating while the parade was going on.

My BF got some chicken dish and I got spaghetti and meatballs. I must say I enjoyed my dish (and I have stomach problems and this meal did not even hurt my stomach). My BF however did not enjoy his dish and I don't think we will be going back. He also remembers going there when he was a child for lunch (about 15 years ago) and he didn't like it then either. Just my 2 cents... :earsgirl:

The first time I went there I was surprised the food was not better. I was expecting more. The next time I lowered my expectations and it was ok. My DW has a PS for us but it is based on being at the park entrance just before the parade. If I knew another choice I would do it.

I can't complain about the food, pretty good IMO. But for the size of the portion, ITA. My daughter ordered a kids meal of ravioli in summer of 2004...I swear, I think there was maximum, 5 raviolis in the plate!!!

I had to share my pizza with her. Too bad because it really is a beautiful place and it has great potential but for what it costs, you'd think the portions would be a little bit bigger.
