So this Tramp here will take his Lady for spaghetti with meatballs @Tony's

I want this to be the romantic highlight of the trip, so careful planing is in order...

I was thinking a table for 7PM, so we have 1 hour for eating, and then watching the fireworks from Main Street.

BUT there's the parade starting at 7PM, so I wonder if this would be nice... IIRC Main St is blocked for the parade, meaning we have to be there earlier (how much earlier?). I also assume that area will be crowded, and perhaps people want to watch the parade from inside the restaurant, so I'm concerned if the restaurant handles the patrons and reservations properly at that specific time of the day. Any good/bad experiences dinning at this time?

And since I'm here, a few more questions: ;)

- Can you see the fireworks from inside the restaurant? If yes, one can reserve a specific table?
- Do they serve red wine? If not, one can bring a small bottle?
- The photographers at Main St stay around during the parade? What are the chances of luring one into the restaurant for a quick shoot?

I think you have really high expectations!!! Lots of what you wish is "luck of the draw".
I can't answer all of your questions, but one easy one is about the red wine. There is no alcohol allowed in the MK. It is dry. It is the only place in all of WDW that doesn't serve alcohol. You will not be allowed to bring your own in.
There is patio seating that I have heard you can see the parade from.
You can not reserve a specific table at any WDW restaurant. And indeed ADR's are not traditional reservations. Meaning they do not hold a table for you for your 7 PM ADR. It means that you get the next available table for your party size. This most often results in waiting a bit after you check in.
If Wishes is at 8, you might want to make your ADR a bit earlier, since you may have to wait to be seated.
I'm not sure what you mean by "handles the patrons and reservations...". As stated earlier they are not true reservations. Secondly, people do linger beyond the end of their meal to see a parade or fireworks - they think it is their "right". Disney generally does not throw people out. So if folks sitiing on the patio all want to see the parade, things will get backed up.
Good Luck with your special dinner.

I'd like to gently suggest that you change your plans for the evening if you are looking for romantic. This place isn't at all romantic (other than the name) and the food leaves much to be desired.

To answer your specific questions:
  • No, you can't see the fireworks from the restaurant because of its location.
  • No alcohol is served or allowed to be brought in the Magic Kingdom
  • The photographers are everywhere

OP, my DH and I had our anniversary "lunch" there in Feb 2011 and it was very good.
We very much enjoyed the food and the service was great.
It was a very romantic meal, but it was quiet as it was afternoon. Not sure how "romantic" it would be at night. All MK restaurants get a bit "chaotic" at dinner time, so take that into account. (but romance is in the eye of the beholder, so if you and DW truly enjoy the theme you will enjoy it).

As for your questions, PPs are correct in saying no wine at the restaurant, nor can you bring it in. MK is a dry park. So if this is important I would suggest a resort restaurant by MK.

You can't see any of the fireworks from inside the restaurant and pretty impossible to see them from the patio as well. Tony's is in a corner at the front of the park with buildings around it. So there is no view of the castle.

Lastly, you will find a photographer every 20 ft up mainstreet, so no worries there.

Enjoy your trip!!

I had an awesome experience two years in a row. We had a wonderful time there for on my fourth anniversary in 2010.
from my blog http://ericaartanddisney.blogspot.com/2011/04/tonys-town-square-at-magic-kingdom.html:

In 2010 me and my husband had dinner at Tony's Town Square Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom and it was the most memorable anniversary we ever had. The staff was real friendly and super attentive and they made sure that this would be an anniversary that we would never forget. We arrived shortly before our reservation and we where promptly seated near the Lady and the Tramp fountain. The manger then came to our table and asked if we where huge Lady and the Tramp fans. And I told her we where because the scene where Lady and the Tramp eat Spaghetti is one of mine and my husband's favorite scenes. We ordered our entree and we ate it. Our sever then came back out and asked my husband and me to get up and stand beside the fountain where to my surprise and joy they announced our anniversary to the whole restaurant and then had my husband roll a meatball with his nose to me on the fountain's edge. After we were seated we got to talk with the chef who came out to bring the cake we had. The manger then came out and presented me and my husband with a stuffed animal of Lady and the Tramp from the restaurant in honor of our anniversary. It was all so magical that I was tearing up with joy. Our server was super nice and helped us gather up the left over cake. This was on the best dinning experiences we have ever had at Walt Disney World."

Of course experiences will be different as none of this is required for the restaurant but they sure did sprinkle some pixie dust on our anniversary in 2010.

Last year they did wish us a happy anniversary and but I candle in the tiramisu which had a stenciled chocolate picture of Lady and the Tramp eating spaghetti and they had confetti on the table. We ate here not on our actual anniversary this year but still had that we were celebrating on our reservations.

During the parade there will be no photographers on main street as they clear the road for the floats. I'm not sure where they go but I don't think you can lure one into Tony's. You can maybe ask the person who seats you or your server but there is only so much they can do. The restaurant is really tucked away and not near where the photographers are.

I think the best you can expect is bring your camera and have your server take your pic. But don't despair, pixie dust does happen sometimes.

We love Tony's but I wouldn't suggest it for a romantic dinner. The fountain inside is sweet and the paintings are adorable but I'd go for Cali Grill if you are wanting romantic and a view of the fireworks. :thumbsup2

Feisty Fairy, the link you posted is a dead link.

OP, I don't think the photographers you find everywhere are allowed in the restaurants. I have never seen one in a restaurant. Only the ones are that preset for photos they sell you right at the table, or are included in package price. But as suggested, you could bring your camera and have server or anyone take your picture.
I frequently offer to take people's picture for them so they can all be in the shot.

Are you planning to pop the question?
Kind of sounds like it.

Narcooses is another option, but much more expensive. If you pick carefully, though, maybe you could swing it? You can see the MK fireworks from there, and the water pagent goes right by there. Do you know about that? Lit up floats playing music go by, it is fun to see. Again, kids run around, it can get as hectic as any other WDW restaurant, and patrons run to the outdoor deck at firework time.
Service seems inconsistent. If you are coffee drinkers, you must order coffee there. It is quite good, and the vaccuum pot presentation is great too. Split a dessert. There is one with spun sugar which is another great presentation.
Restaurant menus are on allears.net. Click on dining. Narcooses is at the Grand Floridian, down by the lake. That could be a nice and romantic evening, strolling through the hotel and imagining, strolling around the grounds on your way down to Narcooses, then dinner, fireworks, dessert and coffee, electrical water pagent.
Do you know about the buggy rides around the grounds of Port Oleans resort?
Another romantic option, and less expensive than Narcooses.
Where are you staying? Is this your first trip?
