Tony's Most Merriest Town Square Party

Hey

I was planning in doing Crystal Palace for lunch and then doing tonys merriest town square party on the evening

Has anyone ever done this. What's it like ? Is it Worth the cost?

I see you get a few hours of drinks which is quite good too

I don't want to miss other things at the Xmas party though so would I still have enough time to see everything else

I haven't gone but talked to someone that did. Same as most of the reviews, food ranges from just ok to terrible. Great view for the parade. The drinks are nice. I personally don't see value in it. I couldn't see spending enough time there during the party to make it worth it.

I haven't been but going because I find value in not jockeying for a Main Street position for fireworks. It frees me up to do a VERY limited amount of activities prior however...

I am honestly not sure there's enough value in it for you. Even without expense and the fact that Tony's allows you to dip in and out during this event, it really makes it hard to experience other things. This is because Tony's is near the very front of the park and everything is scattered throughout, it makes it hard to dip in & out through the crowds and to wherever else you want to go. Given crowds, you already have to pick and choose what you want to do/see. Tony's is really only a value if all of the following apply:

a. You drink (it's all you care to drink)
b. You don't have any kids in the party (all tickets are the same cost, and that's to cover a.)
c. You REALLY want a guaranteed spot on Main Street for the parade.
d. You don't mind losing out on other activities you would have really liked to have done instead.

If at least one of these is not met, I would say you're better off keeping your $100+ (gotta include that tax).

I have tickets for this event. I'm going 12/10. I got the tickets for the parade viewing plus I wanted to do something special for my friend that is traveling with me. She's had a stressful couple of months so thought it would be a nice add. Hoping she doesn't get to nosy and looks at MDE! I'm trying to make it a surprise.


Otherwise I'm not sure it will be worth it. But I think it will be nice to check in have a drink, have some snacks and relax but don't plan on staying there for very long.

In terms of money, it's hard to justify. There's some good things about it, and some bad.
What we enjoyed mostly was the reserved parade viewing. MVMCP usually has people 3-4 deep on main street, and the reserved viewing really gave us some of the best viewing possible. The characters seem to pay more attention to you and interact with you than non-TMMT party goers. It was also a nice break where we could sit down, use a clean bathroom in peace and eat food and desserts. Plus it's all the beer, wine, soda, etc. that you can enjoy. When the parade is over, you can return to Tony's and hang out until the exiting crowds dissipate. Last call for beverages was around 12:15.
Now what we didn't like.
For the most part, the food was only ok. Nothing was really special that I had to have again. But nothing was bad either. I thought that for $100 per person, the food should be memorable, but it wasn't. Same thing with the desserts. I found the special dessert treats in the park were way better. Also, yes you can come and go, but Tony's is right in the front of the park, so if you do leave, it's a long walk and a fight through the crowds to get to any attractions.
I would probably do it again if it were just me and my wife. For us, the pros outweigh the cons. That, and the parade is our favorite thing at the party.
