Is it worth the view to book lunch at Tonys to see the parade? I've only heard negatives about the food, but I would love a nice view. I'm going the second week of September so it may be low attendance anyway and easy to get good seats.

We love Tony's. We, however, seem to be the minority here because we also are not impressed by Liberty Tree Tavern or Ohana so...

We also like Olive Garden and that is what the people who don't like it compare it to. Is it gourmet food, NO...but it is good good that our whole family loves. My son will lick the plate of Chicken Parm, I love the scampi, and the kids have loved the flatbreads.

We are booked on our next trip for the parade package for the first time too...it just happened to fit so I figured why not add it on...not sure where the seating is but if I don't have to sit out for a seat in 98 degree weather in the sun for hours fighting for my spot, it's gotta be worth it!

It's not reserved seating for the parade. It's reserved viewing area. It's the area near the flag pole, in the middle of town square. We're trying it for the first time in Aug. Apparently you can get there a few minutes before the parade comes and get a good spot. The downside is that there is no shade in the reserved area.

oh, I didn't actually mean "seating" as in we'd be sitting...

It always seems we end up on the side of the parade in the sun anyway...just figured I wouldn't have to be there as long before it starts...we'll be there end of June & beginning of July so al little time spent standing in one place waiting, the better! :)

We have had excellent luck just grabbing a spot at the bottom of the train station steps about 20 minutes or so before the parade start.

We are doing this lunch with the reserved viewing area in just a few weeks for the first time. I also would love to see some reviews on it. Our son will be 6 and it will be his first time watching the parade and didn't want to spend a lot of time staking out a good spot.

LOL I am always AMAZED when I hear people like the food here, and I don't use the word "amaze" lightly - but rather say it as if I had just witnessed a miracle. And I'm a foodie, I adore food, and I'm not a food snob at all - I can be just as happy eating a baked pretzel or hot dog in Magic Kingdom as I am eating at the California Grill.

However, I am Italian-American and was raised as such with access to good, home cooked Italian meals. And that, most of all, is why I can honestly say I find the quality of food at Tony's to be truly offensive. But then, that's me, I am also offended by cheap jar sauces like Ragu and Prego as well as the Olive Garden, though I will say that the Olive Garden is actually several notches above Tony's, though admittedly, that still leaves it rather unedible, by my good Italian food standards.

I mean, if you have no idea what good, Italian food is and you were brought up on jar sauces and Olive Garden and thinking good pizza is from Dominos, you will probably love Tony's, I guess. For the rest of us, stay away. And incidentally, I tried what is supposedly their best dish, the chicken parm, which normally is one of my favorite things to eat of all time, and I can honestly tell you I still have nightmares over how horrible that dish was - truly one of the most vile and disgusting things I have ever eaten in my life.

If you want a convenient meal at Magic Kingdom, I would recommend literally ANYTHING else and ANYWHERE else over Tony's from the quick-service to the Plaza and Liberty Tree Tavern and of course the resort restaurants which are just a quick ride away at the monorail - like you can pretty much always get a decent meal at Kona or Grand Floridan Cafe on short notice.

We enjoyed Tony's. But we like jarred Ragu and Prego sauces just fine too.

Had fun taking pics of us recreating the Lady and the Tramp scene with the spaghetti and meatballs - it will be a family memory forever.

Last year I was there in mid Sept and had no issues walking up just as the parade was starting and getting a 2nd row spot in front of the Emporium (IN THE SHADE!!).

My next trip is in Aug and I am skipping this one because I think shade makes the parade soooo much more enjoyable in the summer months. That said, I have no issues staking out a spot and waiting for a good view.

We did this package for the electrical parade last year. I enjoyed my meal at Tony's. Of course, I also love Ragu sauce and Olive Garden. Food was tasty and service was very good. That being said, I'm passing on the parade package for our summer trip. I just don't enjoy sitting in the full sun during summer in Orlando.
