Tony's grand gathering breakfast experience ?

I just realized that I'll probably have enough for a Grand Gathering in May, and Tony's is listed as a Good Morning Character Breakfast, which sounded fun. Does anyone have experience with this? If so, how was it, and was it before park opening?

The only GG experiences I've read about on the DIS were the other options, which didn't get particularly good reviews. The breakfast also only takes one credit on the DDP

Tony's at MK? I'm sorry for asking such a ridiculous question, but the CM I talked to when reserving a restaurant for our trip said that Tonys was not a character dining. Did I miss something??

Yes, Tony's at MK. It's listed on the Grand Gathering page on the Disney web site as being one of the special experiences. I don't know if the info is up-to-date or not, but that's what it says http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...roducts?id=GrandGatheringsSpecialProductsPage

We had a grand gathering breakfast here last year in Dec. We all really enjoyed it! There are characters, Pluto, Chip n Dale & Mickey comes out at the end for a photo with your family. There may be others, but I can't remember at the moment. For the greet with Mickey & photo's, they call each family up by table number.

Breakfast started out with pastries, muffins, ect. Then you are brought out a plate with eggs, waffles(might be french toast ), sausage or bacon. Again there might have been more!

Tony comes out & sings & also ask if there are any Anniversaries or Birthdays. The characters dance around with the kids & adults. Everyone in your party also gets a nice Tony's Grand Gathering pin.

I thought it was a nice experience & would do it again. I think they only do this on Wed. & Sat. mornings at 9am.

We did it in December and doing it again in a month.

You can get in to MK early through the character meal entrance. We got some great pictures on main street without anyone around. The breakfast started with pastries and drinks. They bring juice and coffee but you can ask for ice tea or coke. The breakfast has eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles. You can get more if you want it. Tony sicks, characters come out take pictures. There are songs and dancing with the characters. You also get a special pin and a fastpass to Mickey's Philharmonic. At the end is when Mickey comes out for pictures. We had our extended family and they allowed us to do one big group pic and pics of each family. It was a great morning and we can't wait to do it again the end of sept.
