Tony's for first night dinner?

We are a party of 6 adults and one 4 year old child and we made reservations for our first night dinner at Tony's Town Square and now I'm second guessing it. Now I'm wishing we had arranged a character dinner around the MK since that's where we will be that day, but I can't get a reservation. This is the first trip to Disney for most of us and none of us have ever eaten at Tony's before, so I'm wondering, if we keep the reservation at Tony's will we still have a great time and will it still have that Disney feel? TIA!!

I think you'll find Tony's to be very Disney-like. There are references to Lady and the Tramp everywhere and dinner on Main Street in the MK will put you in the Disney spirit for the rest of your trip.

i think it is a good choice. the food is good and you are right on main st. it is very disney like and you will enjoy this. this is a good way to get your trip going. do you have other character meals on your trip? if you do then i would not worry about this one at all.

We ate at Tony's last month on our first full day in the parks. The food and the service were good. Enjoy!

We have made it a tradition to eat at Tony's our first night in Disney World. We love the atmosphere and so do our girls, ages 8 and 10. The food can be hit or miss. We had always had good food there until our trip last November. Not only was the food horrible but, the service was the worst of our entire trip. That being said, we are giving Tony's another chance this November because any restaurant can have an off night and because we love Tony's that much. My husband and I ate there for the first time on our honeymoon 14 years ago so it does have sentimental value also.
