Tons of SW questions

Ok, since I haven't found any real satisfactory answers I'm posting my string of questions about SW to see what I can find.

1) Getting there.... We were originally going to get a Tiffany Town car to drive us, but then I read on this board about Lynx. I went to their site but can't really make out how the heck you get there using Lynx other than they leave from the TTC in Disney. We are staying at the CBR.... is it worth saving the cash and travel with Lynx or shoudl we stick with our car service?

2) Dining.... We are having dinner at Dine with Shamu, but what to do for lunch? I love sharks, so I was considering the Sharks Underwater Grill, but I wanted to know if the prices are worth it. I've looked at the menu posted on the board and the food sounds good, but I want to know more.

3) How long do folks usually stay? We planned for a whole day because I'm a major marine life fan, but we're going the last day of July and I'm sure it will be hot. Are we going to collapse if we dont' hit the penguin area every 15 minutes? On a similar note what happens in the park when it rains (I'm pretty sure it will rain at least once when we are in the park)

4) If you aren't in to thrill rides is Journey to Atlantis too extreme? I already know I won't touch the Kracken (too scared) but the Atlantis ride seems a bit tamer. How extreme is it?

Well, I think that's enough to get things started. Hope to see some responses soon.:wave2:

I can't answer your questions about transportation or Sharks Grill because we have always had a car, and we've never eaten at that restaurant.
However, a day is definitely the minimum for Sea World. It is an amazing park, especially if you're into marine life. You'll love it. I do not know what happens when it rains, but I know they sell ponchos.
Dine with Shamu is amazing. We absolutely loved it and now reccommend it to everyone we know, whether they're going to Sea World in the near future or not.
I'm not a big thrill ride fan but I did like Journey to Atlantis. It is sort of a combination of Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad if you are familiar with WDW. But it's not as extreme as Big Thunder Moutain by any means.

Can't help with transport either. We have done Dine w Shamu and usually just have a light lunch because there is plenty to eat on the buffet and we like to have an empty stomach. We usually go for two days asthere is so much to do you can completely burn out in one day. I don't like big ridesbut quite like J2A, although it is quite fast, no worsethan Splash mountain though.

Hope this helps.

Love verity..

1) Depending on how many of you there are you may find the towncar ( or a regular taxi service) to be close on cost and a hell of a lot more convenient.

2) Unless you're a big eater I'd stick with just one major meal and go to one of the excellent counter services around SW for lunch.

3) SW usually has a "2nd day free" program running ( you have 7 days to use the 2nd day). I would plan 2 days at SW and take your time. Particularly if you're a marine life fan AND going at that time of year it's far better to take your time, pace yourself and get to take the time you'd like over the excellent shows and exhibits they have. As well as the penguins the cooler (temperature) inside exhibits are Manatees, Sharks and Wild Arctic (real snow on the walls here , by the Beluga Whales) . It's also worth making sure you get to the outdoor shows in PLENTY of time. That way you can choose to get into a shaded area. IMHO you need at least 20 minutes before Clyde and Seamore, Shamu and the Whale and Dolphin shows. If you're sensible you can come armed with drinks and icecreams and use the time as a refreshment stop and rest.

4) JTA is a great ride, certainly no "worse" than Splash mountain at Disney. I'd agree with monarchsfan it's like a combination of Thunder and Splash mountains at Disney.

Here's another nod in favor of arriving at the shows 20 - 30 mins
early. We're glad we did b/c we were able to sit a couple rows behind our children while they sat in the soak zone--altho they didn't get soaked!! Seamore and friends is a really funny show and much better than I thought it would be.

Had my own car so can't say either way about the transportation service. Also did not dine w/Shamu altho I wish we had now that I've heard so many favorable responses about it.

Kraken is awesome!! :Pinkbounc DD(12) and I rode it and wanted to ride a 2nd time but felt bad about rest of family waiting on us. When we went back to ride it a 2nd time, storms moved in and the ride was shut down. Atlantis was alot of fun too altho I think we would have enjoyed it more if we had gotten on it during the hot part of the day. Rode it at the end of our day and got soaking wet -- which was followed by a down pour and caught the chills. Ride it and then Kraken--trust me.....you will dry off!!

Have a WONDERFUL time!!

The no 50 Lnyx bus takes u to SW if u are doing dine with shamu I would recommend smoky creek grill for lunch great ribs JTA is pretty great but the drop is pretty steep:jester:

Ive used the lynx bus from TTC. We too were staying at CBR. It's so easy and doesnt take too much time. You just need to look on the Lynx website for the bus times as it saves you waiting around at the TTC and Seaworld. Yes of course its easier getting a towncar but I'd rather save my money and use a towncar for another journey.

If you have any questions about using the bus then send me a pm. :hyper:
