Okay, I'm brand new to this board (as a matter of fact it took forever to figure out how to even post this!) and I've been anxious to ask questions to people who know what they're talking about (the folks at the DCL # don't seem to know anything, for some reason). I'm taking my honeymoon cruise in Oct. of 2003-a long way off, i know, but I'm excited about it. My soon to be hubby has never been to disney world, or even seen the ocean, AND his birthday is on halloween (we'll be on the ship). So I'm a little nervous that he won't have fun-a total disney experience. Now- on to my questions.

1- At Castaway Cay, do they have the water netted off? I have a terrible fear of jellyfish, for some reason, and I read somewhere that they have the water blocked off to critters, but someone at DCL told me no.

2- At Nassau- I'm not totally sure what excursion I want to do, if any. I'm thinking of maybe just going to a public beach, but I'm a little concerned about the cleanliness of it. Also, how long is the boat docked in Nassau?

3- Okay, on to the ship. I saw on Barb's site the difference between aft metal and the plexiglass verandahs. while I am aiming for the larger, metal ones, I'm not sure I want to be in the butt of the boat. and don't you have to stand up to see over the metal ones, whereas the plexiglass you can sit and enjoy the view?

4- As far as coffee in the morning, do they send creamers and all that stuff with it or should i bring some myself (partial to the french vanilla creamer, but any will work if i'm tired enough. :D )?

5- If we want to go swimming at night, how late are the pools open?

and here is what i'm the most worried about.. my soon to be DH and I are not much for drinking OR dancing, and it seems to me that these two things might be the only option for us during the night. I'm sure we'll go into one of the clubs at some point and have a few drinks, but not every night and we don't like dancing. what are some other night time options we could do, besides sleep?

any help will be greatly appreciated, and I hope I meet some cool people on this board, since i'll be visiting it for the next year and a half, probably even after we come back from our trip! I'm sure you'll hear from me again!!

If you haven't already been there, check this site out. It may answer questions you don't even know you have yet.

I have found Barb & Tony's, Dave from Marietta, and this site to be the very best resources!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi SoleilLoca, and welcome to the Cruise Board! :)

I'll try to help with some of your questions. They DO have Castaway Cay netted off to keep out some of the larger sea creatures, but there are plenty of small fish in the swimming areas. I've never seen any jellyfish but I suppose it's possible they are there. It's really not a big concern, though.

In Nassau you are typically there until about 10:30 pm at night.

You're right about the verandahs. I personally prefer being able to see the ocean while seated, and you can't do that with the metal verandahs. I know some people prefer the more enclosed feeling with the metal verandahs and they are slightly larger, but for me seeing the ocean while seated is the most important thing while on the verandah.

They will bring cream with your coffee in the morning, not any flavored creamers though.

The pools are generally open until late at night, between 10 pm and midnight.

As for night time activities there are SHOWS every night, plus all sorts of different entertainment. You can also see movies each night, or participate in the different adult games and activities. We like to dance, but we also really enjoy relaxing in Sessions and listening to the music there (and they also have headphones and CDs you can use when there is no one performing). You'll find plenty to do. :)

Hope that helps a little, and happy planning!
