Tons of questions

Hi everyone, hope it's ok to put this all here since I have tons of questions!

I've not been to Disney World in 20 years. Dh went about 10 years ago and the kids never. Well the oldest but he won't remember as he was just a baby.

We are doing one of those resort package deals through Westgate, heard good and bad so any info you may have would be nice. We also get 2 One day Magic Your Way tickets, so will need to purchase 3 others.

Going with an 11yo boy, 6yo girl and 3yo boy.

Would it be wrong of me if I told them the 3yo was only 2? He just turned 2 so it's not a huge lie, although it is a lie. Course if they ask him he'll tell them he's 3...or he may tell them he's 2 or 4 or any other age for that matter!

Can I buy cheaper tickets online or in the area to offset what they'll be giving us at the resort?

I know we don't want to just go to the Parks for a day, there's no fun in that and I dont want to feel like we've got to see everything. So we'll need to buy multiple days worth of tickets. I see whre they have 3 day passes, what about 2 day?

Are they transferable? If we buy a 3 day but dn't use the last day, can we give them to someone?

Will the younger children like Epcot? I know they'll all love Animal Kingdom..or atleast I think they will. Will they? The oldest loves animals as much as the younger two do so he probably won't get bored. I'll have to see what all they have there for everyone. Can you spend all day at AK?

I doubt we'll do any of the water parks..although I'd love to, but we can save those for another visit. So want to hit the main things.

My daughter would love to see the princesses. I've heard of breakfast/lunch/dinner with them. How do I go about finding out about that? Do we have to be part of a resort to do it? How much more does it cost to do it?

Is this December a decent time to go? Looking at between the dates of the 7-20th. What's the temp normally, and how's the crowds?

Ok ending now, I'm sure to think of lots of other things!

Maybe I can help with a few things..

December/Christmas time is one of the best times to go and there will be so much to do. You guys could get tickets to MVMCP (Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party) which is held at the Magic Kingdom. This is a special hard ticket event so you would need to buy this ticket seperatley. The Osbourne Lights Spectacular which is at MGM and part of the adminssion to MGM and many other festive things. The weather I have heard, I will be there in Dec 06, is nice around 70's during the day and cooler at night. You can always check www.weatherchannel.com to get an estimated forcast.

Tickets can be purchased at numerous places... some people buy them from TicketMania, some directly from Disney. It is cheaper if you purchase your tickets in advance. You can buy anything from a one day ticket to a 10 day ticket to an annual pass. The more days you buy the cheaper each day is.

As far as dinning especially with princesses there is Cinderalla's Royal Roundatable, Princess Storybook Breakfast, Perfect Princess Tea Party (called somehting like that).. my point there are many to chose from but you would need to do it fast and book the time and date... these fill up fast and you may not be able to get into one now.

There is also a lot to do outside of the parks... like Downtown Disney, Mini - golf, visiting the resorts, going down to the Boardwalk... so you might want to look into some of these things as well

Allearsnet.com and even here on these boards you can find a lot of information.... hopefully you have fun planning and have a great trip. I hope I helped a little. :earboy2:

The tickets are nontransferable. They now use finger scans at the parks that link you to your ticket.

I would not lie about my child's age. No matter when he turned 3, he is 3 (unless he is having his birthday while you are there of course - then I think it is ok not to buy tickets). Plus, it would be very embarrased if you told them he was 2 and then he shouted out that he was 3. It is just better to buy the tickets than to worry about being caught. That is only my opinion though. :flower:

We spent all day at AK last trip and still didn't see everything. And it was not a busy day there. It all depends if you just go for the attractions or take the time to look at the animals I guess.

Have a great trip!

Ok we addressed the topic of not lying about the youngest. What about the other questions?

Will the younger children like Epcot? Ages 6 and 3. I know they'll all love Animal Kingdom..or atleast I think they will. Will they? The oldest loves animals as much as the younger two do so he probably won't get bored. I'll have to see what all they have there for everyone. Can you spend all day at AK?

The princess meals at MK (in the castle) run around $32. a person for adults. Advanced reservations are required.

Dates closer to the holiday will be busier that earlier in the month.

There are a lot of things for the kids to do at Epcot. There are Kidcot stations at all the countries and in Future World too. Check out Innoventions for lots of fun things for kids to do also.

I can also address the weather issue since I live close by. 70's during the day and cooler at night is usually true for early December, although that can change from week to week. You might get a few days in the 80's or you might get a few days in the 40's. The best advice is what a previous poster said about checking the weather forecast before you leave.

You can definitely spend all day at AK. There are lots of animals, shows, and rides. The crowds should be light so make sure you do everything you want. Have fun. :earsboy:
